That’s what I’m asking. Same with Cratloe. Negative. Same with Shannon by the runway. Negative.

Had a good spin down to Bective Abbey earlier. It’s not far off the same size as Rock of cashel but on ground level and free. A good ramble around with the kids and then over to Bective stud tea rooms for a scone and tea. The Morans have done some job. Tempted to do the box sauna and Boyne river dip but with kids would have been a mission.
A last spin over to O’Connell’s in Skryne (the Christmas Guinness pub) for two glorious stout and tayto. Hill of Tara not far away too for day trippers. A good day out in the royal county.

Sauna/stream will be hit soon on a day off.

Speaking of abbeys, I drove past one outside Gort a while back called Kilmacduagh. Looks an impressive site. @KinvarasPassion as chief Nogra poster, does it get many tourists?

Chanced a new drive there today. Approached the Comeraghs via Clonea Power and Rathgormack rather than the usual spin up from Mahon Falls. At Glenpatrick Bridge I took a sharp right down to where I knew would be a car park and picnic spot. Had the picnic basket with me so I had a leisurely picnic there in a secluded car park where the only sound was the blackbird and the only sight was the lush landscape in all its finery. From there I drove up to the Nire and then down the Mountain Road into Clonmel. Drove in past Ikes and Mikes to Dove Hill and stopped at Meadows and Byrne and picked up a few bits for the house and a gilet for a ridiculous €19.95. Home then through Carrick and Mooncoin and back across the bridge into Waterford.
A grand day out enhanced greatly by the weather.

I was down in South Longford last night at the roundy birthday of an old flatmate of mine. Drove back through some lovely pastoral scenes (Ireland generally looks beautiful when the sun is out). I came back through North Westmeath and some lovely little towns like Edgeworthstown, Castlepollard and Crookedwood. I called in on an old pal near Tullynally Castle who is going through a bad patch. We had a grand cup of tea and a slice of cake and exchanged some old yarns and I was back on the road again. Joined the motorway at Mullingar and was back in Dublin in jig time.

South Tipp/North Waterford is genuinely the most underrated scenic parts of the country. Came back home from Kerry through Stradbally once. Went back then and discovered the area. Have since hiked the Knockmealdowns, absolutely stunning area.

I brought the young lad to devils Glen in Wicklow this morning just outside Ashford

Half an hour walk to waterfall/swimming pool - proper forest bathing. Drive in and out is hairy as only one car passable most of way but we survived. Ashford is a lovely village.

Ps the incessant rain has meant we have the most unreal foliage in the sunshine

We went around Slea Head yesterday, had a dip off Ventry pier etc but this was the highlight
We called into a Prehistoric Fort/Petting farm (only in Kerry :man_shrugging:, 2.50 in)
Anyway this fella actually jumped from the ground onto this yoke, no word of a lie, I knew goats were fleet footed but this was a miracle, it’s impossible
It’s a picture of a picture, my missus printed them out this morning

If you ever go down around passage east, there are a number of goats that reside in the rocky hillside on the main road from waterford into the village. Sometimes they’ll stray down onto the road. Mental how they climb up thw rocks there

They’re amazing

There is absolutely no room for error in the jump to the box that I put up, there’s barely enough room for his 4 feet and wood is a skiddy enough landing spot, it was amazing

Is he the fella with the beehive huts and feed the sheep?

No, that was about 500m along the road
This fella had a prehistoric ringfort and feed the sheep :man_shrugging:

I think you’ve come up with the phrase ‘as sure footed as a mountain goat’

I done the exact same drive myself yesterday.I seen the sign for that and was going to stop but my crew wanted to keep going.I also seen the sign that was put up here a few weeks ago to hold a pet lamb,I had a good chuckle to myself when I seen it.You couldn’t be up to them Kerry cunts. The weather was shit down there yesterday.

I cannot stress how impressive it was, I would go so far as to say that it was impossible to do it on the first effort, and the poor fucker was risking injury

Yes, it was poor enough weather though we had very little rain

We have a girl in Irish college so had no choice
