Thereās a savage hairbrush for girl children called a tangle something. It was priced up at 2ā¬ in McCabe s pharmacy in pavillions beside the counter. She scanned it and it read 15ā¬ and just said āI have to give you that at the price on itā and gave it to me. Itās nice to get a bargain on something you know your kid is going to lose at some stage.

Instead of you leaving the shop thinking āI spent ā¬2 for a hairbrush - fair enoughā you are thinking that you got a bargain due to them staging the whole situation and upping the scanned price deliberately and overstating the ābargainā.

The contactless payment using Android pay keeps a log of all payment used with it, so you can see each time you used it, where and at what time. Iām assuming the new iphone version released recently does the same thing?

I think most of the time I have used it the person at the till has given me the card reader receipt as well anyway. may not get the shop receipt but most often wouldnt get that anyway if paying with cash
Itās the card machine receipt thatās key I think.
I have no problem when they show you what price they have typed in but in my experience itās rare that happens.

Iād say the staff here are just lazy/incompetent rather than deliberately trying to overcharge here. Those till prices in the large franchises are changed manually by central office somewhere and the shop should be downloading new prices and putting out new shelf edge labels. They probably donāt bother their holes.
