Gordon won the race that mattered, the Grand National. Still no Cheltenham Gold Cup for Willie either. Let him celebrate sweeping the bumper and winning a load of other second rate races at Punchestown.
Funny Gordon said he’d happily hand back his aintree national to win the Irish trainers championship last week.
What a self deprecating man Gordon is. You’d never think he won the biggest and most prestigious race of all less than two weeks ago.
It’s called “Knowing your place” . I know fuck all about this business but having been buckets ahead with the might of Gigginstown at his back he kind of did a Limerick on it and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
When asked for his opinion on his abilities as a trainer a local expert doubted if he could train a pig to be dirty.

Well that’s obviously utter bollox
The sports pages are polluted with lots of hobbies and pastimes masquerading as sport but this trainers championship must be the biggest farce of a carry on of the whole lot.
