Fuck me this is class stuff from Connacht. Fair fucks to them if they hold on. Some performance with 14 men for the second half.
yeah watched the last 50 minutes of itā¦delighted for them after their hammering last weekā¦keatley gave a smashing performance, was also impressed with fionn carr at full backā¦there are a lot of decent hard working pros at connaught, the likes of duffy, o conner, muldoon and farley and they well deserved itā¦great to see the ladyboys live up to their nameā¦horgan is regressing at a rate of knotsā¦
Some head butt Mike McCarthy gave Rocky Elsom as well. Iād say heāll do time for that one.
Keatley was the best player on the park and completely outplayed Sexton (the second Sunday in a row thats happened Sexton.
Leinster had enough quality on the pitch to win it and had Luke Fitzgerald not been so greedy they would have got in for 2 tries late on. I wonder was it laid on the line tonight to the likes of Duffy, OāConnor, Frank Murphy etc and also to Fionn Carr and Keatley to say that this was their opportunity to play themselves into an Irish squad place.
Funny seeing them do a āMunsterā on it for the last 5 mins of ruck after ruck after ruck.
Disgusted with the result
Connacht absolutely deserved it. Leinster can have no arguments. THey 2 or 3 try chances that they didnāt take, COnnacht got one and took it.
Great defence, Johnny O Concrete was immense, Farley top class and Keatley looked really good. Not time to put pressure on him but he performed much better than Sexton who I still am not convinced by. For the first time in yonks the Leinster backline looked really poor. Think some of this is down to Keane who is very poor at clearing the ball out quickly. Criminal not to put a team away when you have an extra man for 30 min. Not good prep for the Beer cup next weekendā¦

Did you see the bruise he ad on his forehead when the Setanta lad was interviewing him after the game?

thought the exact same thing about āluke the ledgeā watching it, greedy little fuckerā¦delighted when macarthy stuck the head in rocky but he will get a couple of months for it i would sayā¦leinster didnāt seem to have any real answers for connaught attitude and physicalityā¦another season that promised so much for leinster could well be about to unravelā¦
away to edinburgh and then at home to wasps in the next two weeksā¦two huge games for themā¦

Not sure what happened him but he was spouting blood when taken off. Wouldnt surprise me if he was given a dig off the ball.
Just saw the first try Munster got last night - absolute shocker!
Puke
Luke was very greedy. Hasnāt really delivered at the top level yet has our Luke. Elsom knocking on when Keatley tackled is also unforgivable as was CJs ignoring the 2 man overlap outside him in the first half.
Leo clipped Keatley on the ear as he was celebrating the try. Keatley is a young lad 21 so I think the Connacht boys feel a bit paternal towards him and got stuck in. McCarthy will get a bit of time for the offence. Keatley should keep his head down and look for a place on the Summer tour (himself and Sexton were on Churchill duty last year and Keatley made the better impression)- O Gara is sure to be on Lions so Iām presuming we are going somewhere- Argentina? US?- and get his chance then to take over from ROG. I know Iām getting carried away having said 10 mins ago now is not the time to put pressure on him. But I saw him playing schools and he was immense. A lovely crossfield kick that was a pass to the winger to score being the standout memory from the schools cup final.
Anyway - Iām just disgusted having lost a few quid on Leinster

yaeh keatley seems to have a lovely set of hands on him tooā¦played a couple of lovley flat passes in the second halfā¦
i canāt remember where we are touring to buti donāt think it is argentina anyway as ireland were there the summer before lastā¦i would say it is either the usa/canada or japanā¦
Those two games have really put Sexton back down the order.
Contepomi hasnāt played much at 10 for Leinster recently but not sure they can afford to persist with Sexton for the HEC as he doesnāt seem to have progressed at all from last season.
Smashing win for Connacht, wonder if theyāll be able to capitalise on Ulsterās ineptitude this season.
Great performance last night, and i didnt really give them a chance when McCarthy went off. McCarthy deserved the line, but I thought Cullen was lucky not to join him, with a cheap shot on Keatly.
Keatly was very very good and outperformed Sexton by a long shot. I thought Frank Murphy also had a good game. Up front Johnny OāConnor was immense.
Connaught need to kick on now and get another few resultsā¦ qualifying to the h-cup this year is not beyond them.
On Leinster, i thought that they were very poor and two weeks in a row now with no try. Some of their basic handling was poor, and the back play seemed to lack any imagination. Contemponi is playnig crap, and Horgan is worse. Sexton has not yet convinced me, and Fitzgerald seemed to be trying too hard, and can be faulted for making a cunt of two try scoring opportunities.
Up front, Stan wright is poor, and Devon Toner, despite having the physique of a secend row is still a fair bit off the standard.
On the coverage, Setanta would want to get a few nuetrals to do some analysis.
yeah sexton despite having a bit of potential and a big reputation(presume he got this through schools rugby) was very poor in the lat two games when leinster needed a bit of directionā¦
compared to this time last year when ronan o gara seemed to be the only irish out half around, wallace as a makeshift one but really a 12, we now have staunton getting a run at wasps, sexton at leinster and keatley at connachtā¦add on wallace and o conner up north we seem to have a few optionsā¦
i am not saying that any of the five lads named above are up to international standards but at least there will be a bit of competition between them for the second choice spotā¦
i would have been much happier about this last friday after staunton had a stormer against leicester, followed this up with a shocker on saturday.
sexton has played two quiet poor games in a row.
donāt know much about keatley but i really hope heās very good.
Ian Humphreys was playing for Ballymena at the weekend.
Doesnāt Earls remind anyone of Cullen when he first arrived on the scene. In fact iād go as far as saying that Earls has better skills right now.
certainly with his pace and lines of runningā¦if he can go on and become close enough to the standard of player and man that cullen was then i would be more than happyā¦
Whatās the āladyboysā stuff all about? People donāt realise we won the Magnerās League last season and are therefore moving on and prioritising the European Cup this term. Hopefully juvenile insults will come back to haunt those who take pleasure in an Irish sideās stuttering start to the season.
the ladyboys comes from leinsters inability to front up consistently in the physical stakes bandageā¦if you had watched the game you would have seen connaught with only 7 forwards for half the match were on top in the break down and even forced a penalty against the leinster scrum with only 7 playersā¦
wouldnāt say i take pleasure from leinsterās stuttering start but was delighted to see connaught winā¦

I didnāt see the game last night as it clashed with Sunday night live American Football but what I would say is that lesser teams are obviously going to be fired up taking on the defending champions and thatās probably the main reason for Leinsterās surprising reversals in our last 2 games.
and what will be your/leinsterās excuse when they lose yet again away to edinburgh next week or when wasps beat them in the RDS the week afterā¦
