Fagan, I hope your night in London tonight is every bit as good as mine in Edinburgh in 2009. And Cardiff in 2006. And 2008.
A decent final, Ulster should have got more for their early dominance and 3 pts was a measly return. The choice of Jackson at out-half was strange indeed, and he didnāt help their cause having a nightmare, hopefully it wonāt effect him too much, a lot of pressure for a 20 y/o. Leinster just have too much power for every club (and probably most nations in the world). Nigel Owens made some strange calls but thatās expected and Ulster gave themselves some slight hope with Dan Tuohyās try. But conceding a penalty soon after and then having Terblanche sent to the bin took itās toll. Leinster strolled through the 14 men for the last 10 minutes, scoring 2 tries to put a bit of an unjustified look on the scoreboard. Every Leinster man deserves serious credit for their performance they were immense and simply unbeatable on that form. Ulster can be proud of the season they had and with a balanced side they will be a strong force in the coming seasons.

It was 42-14 ffs
They were doing that where I was aswell. Idiots
Fair enough TDB.
Rob Kearney voted European Player of the Year
Looks like Denis Leamy may be forced to retire. Munster have gotten a fair hammering with forced retirements in recent months. Sad to see Leamy forced out, he was a fine player for Ireland when on form and pre Heaslip he was untouchable at 8, the athleticism to secure the line out and score in Twickenham being a highlight. Munster have a lot of problems.
Leamy gone with injury following Flannery and Wallace. Professional rugby is destroying these guys bodies.
Ffs OāDriscoll played on Saturday 8 days after keyhole surgery on his knee. 8 days.
When will someone stop this carnage.
Rugby players are destroying their bodies with steroids.
They attempted, in a cack handed manner, through the ELVs, to change the way the game was played and increase the aerobic requirements and by extension reduce size of players and collisions. The experiment failed and they seem to have deserted that intention.
They will be forced into serious action soon in any event as the players will be uninsurable the rate they are dropping at. I would also have some concern with conditioning and prehab/rehab with the Munster players as they seem to have been a lot worse hit than most other clubs. Some of those retirements were unfortunate but the fact that Flan/Wallace/Leamy were playing high intensity rugby in the HEC to the business end of season every year and straight into Summer tours certainly didnāt help
The RWC is in September so they should just designate that as the international window for inter-hemisphere games. Means you donāt have to mess with the cycle every few years when the World Cup is on and you can reduce the number of internationals by 3 or 4. Thatās not a huge number of games but when you cut down the touring (only going every second year etc) then it would have a decent impact.
Obviously the finances dictate the two touring windows at the moment but I think thereās a bit of over exposure to the SH teams in Europe at this stage and Iām sure the reverse is true. Only NZ remain a sell-out draw in the European stadia and that wonāt last forever. The more spaced out those tours the better the hype that would surround them.
How old is Leamy anyway? Never really lived up to his promise as far as I was concerned. Still a very good international on his day, and he had a ridiculous amount of energy, but I thought he struggled for consistency and never got on top of silly handling errors.

+1. Fairly indisciplined too and always prone to giving away needless penalties. A distinctly average player.
Pretty sure Leamy is 30.
Geordan Murphy has retired from international rugby having been left out of the summer tour squad.
Munsters Daragh Hurley has now retired due to a persistent injury.
Sack the physios Iād say.
Agree on all points re tours. Leamy was one of the most skilful forwards to ever play for Munster, savage man to catch kick offs over his head too. Rustiness through lack of continuous games had an impact on his handling and overall game, always he thought he was trying too hard for a finish. An outstanding 6 IMO but was shoehorned into 8 on Foleys retirement
See my post above. There is also ongoing litigation on the topic
Hurleys retirement has been in the post for years
Agree with this. He was never as effective at 8 but Kidney / OāSullivan were very stubborn with him.
Big feather in the cap for Conor OāShea there.
