But there was a serious finish to the Roosters Rabbitohs games this evening. Well worth a you tube view. Rabbitohs got two tries in the last couple of mins to win but was an enjoyable second half in truth
So, no obvious contradiction between those two paragraphs then.
Another great start to a Saturday morning for me. Up just under 5 points this morning.
The Crusaders dispensed with the Bulls easily enough in the first game. Carter and McCaw were superb. Morne Steyn had a bad day. His kicking from the hand was very poor at times. I went with Crusaders -10 and that just about came in @10/11.
Delighted with the Sharks in the second game. I played a bit of wait and see with this. I was a bit concerned when they were not allowed have Fran Steyn in the playoffs and when Lambie was ruled out with injury but they dominated the Reds in the first half. They spent most of the second half defending but were very impressive overall. JP Pieterson was excellent for them in attack and defense.
I got on the Sharks just after their first penalty as they had started well. Got them +3 @ 10/11.
The two semi finals are nicely set up now as local derbies.
The Crusaders head north to play the Chiefs on Friday morning. 8.30am on SS4.
The Sharks play in Cape Town against the Stormers on Saturday afternoon.
As I had talked about doing I got on the Crusaders 11/4 to win it out. 5 pointer.
I also put 1 point on the Sharks @16/1 as well. Iâm nicely positioned now. If either get to the final Iâd be happy. Both would be deadly.

WHILE BRITAIN REJOICED in many successes at the London Olympics it seems that the performance of their swimmers has left many feeling cold.

Today, amid talk that Olympic funding may be redirected from the pool to disciplines providing more medals, British Swimming has announced that former Ireland international and current Harlequins director of rugby, Conor OâShea, will head up the performance review.

In 2008, Team GB swimmers were the focal point for many after they hauled home six medals â including two golds and a world record for Rebecca Adlington â from Beijing

In the first week of this yearâs Games the tension left upon Adlingtonâs shoulders was noticeable and many commentators were hysteric in their disappointment when the 23-year-old won bronze in the same events.

Michael Jamieson was the only other British swimmer to medal at the games â he took silver in the menâs 200m breaststroke behind Daniel Gyurta who set a new world record â leaving the official target of âfive to sevenâ untroubled.

Joining OâShea on the panel will be Thomas Lurz, who won bronze in Beijing and silver in London in the menâs marathon swim, along with British Swimmingâs performance director Michael Scott and Craig Hunter, an independent member of the swimming management board.

The statement released today by British Swimming said:

âThe aim of the debrief is to consider the performance results at the London 2012 Olympics, to determine the reasons for below medal target performance and identify key areas for improvement for inclusion in British Swimmingâs strategy for Rio and beyond.

âIt is anticipated to conclude the London 2012 Performance Debrief by the end of October 2012.â
Argentina travel to New Zealand to get beaten. The only question is by how much. Cruden in for Carter who is injured. Gonna trust NZ at home to put Argentina away.
Later Australia in total disarray after scoring 0 in Auckland two weeks ago face South Africa in Perth. Australia are weak favourites here I think. Will take the 4 point handicap being given to South Africa.
