Munster, celtic league, heineken cup, general and tag rugby thread šŸ

i would be careful enough Fagan, French rugby is tough to call and both your picks away makes it harder to get up imo. Look at the results so far this season to gauge away wins etc, plus are Internationals away from their clubs yet?

Jackson is a donkey and will be shortly overtaken by madigan and perhaps hanrahan.

Harsh.

Huge blow for Leinster although Madigan is a super little player. I had hoped Madigan would get pissed off not getting games with Leinster and sign for Munster but not to be now. Big blow for Ireland too as he will get flogged in France. ā‚¬750k though-he couldnā€™t turn that down. That must make him one of the highest paid players in the world.

Good news for Ireland but bad news for Leinster, IMHO. Should give Madigan plenty more opportunities to play at 10 for Leinster

Imagine Dublin Jonny making that kind of brass and Kildare/Cavan Jonny not getting a brass farthing for his efforts. Make you wonder, so it would.

Point taken but I looked at this from every angle. Clermont are travelling with a strong team. Montpelier are gone with a strong squad.

Best of luck with it.

Would you fancy the Wolfhounds tonight, -4 @ 10/11?

No

A whopping deal for Johnners, all the very best to him.

And poor oul Kildare/Cavan Jonny not even allowed out for a pint-tā€™would sicken you so tā€™would.

Fuck Kildare/Cavan Johnny, look at the mileage the fucker is claiming driving up & down to Cavan everyday.

Dublin Jonny getting a fair bit of stick on social media for the move despite that fool of a man Martin breheny telling us everyone would slap him on the back and wish him well. Rolleyes

Can anyone tell me who the co-commentator on Premier Sport for the Perpignan v Clermont match is?

He is an Irish chap who played for Dax and Toulouse back in the 2000ā€™s, is a Dub

Trevor Brennan?

Nope, far more refined Dublin accent, thought it might be Aiden McCullen but wiki informed me that he didnā€™t play for Dax

Presume it is the same commentary as Setanta. Is it Killian Keane? Donā€™t ever recall him playing in France though

Any value in Wales at 14/1 to finish last in six nations?

Doubt it. Should beat Italy and Scotland anyway

LEINSTER may be facing competition for Luke Fitzgerald from southern rivals Munster.

The Ireland and Leinster utility backā€™s provincial deal with Leinster expires in June. Leinster have offered him terms but it is understood he was being courted by Munster before suffering his cruciate ligament injury.

As a consequence of the injury, which happened after he replaced Keith Earls in Rome last weekend, Fitzgeraldā€™s season is over. He is scheduled to undergo surgery this week and faces up to six months in rehabilitation.

Leinster have confirmed that they will be offering Fitzgerald a new deal. Munsterā€™s reported interest may, however, turn the 25-year-oldā€™s head.

This latest injury is a cruel blow for the 2009 Lion after he fought his way back to fitness from a career-threatening neck injury. This followed a previous spell on the sidelines when he damaged knee ligaments two years ago.

Fitzgerald had been showing signs of returning to his best form with Leinster in their final two Heineken Cup pool games, and this was enough to prompt a return to the international stage during the Six Nations.

Prior to coming off the bench against Scotland in this yearā€™s championship, Fitzgeraldā€™s last international was back in 2011 during Irelandā€™s World Cup warm-up series of matches. He and scrum-half Tomas Oā€™Leary were the two big-name absentees from the squad that reached the quarter-finals.

Fitzgerald has won 26 caps for Ireland, scoring two tries, and one cap from the 2009 Lions tour to South Africa.

One of his greatest strengths is his versatility. The former Blackrock College star can play anywhere in the backline, but is believed to be keen to develop his skill set at outside-centre, an opportunity Munster might more readily afford him.

Munsterā€™s interest surfaced before his latest injury.

Whether or not they have maintained that interest in light of his most recent setback is the question.
