Munster Rugby - We DID start the fire (Part 1)

Plenty delusional lads around, ā€œget to a final and anything can happenā€, ā€œMunster always fancy a cut off Leinsterā€ etc etc.

If Munster had everyone fit and their strongest team out and playing to their best they might have won. The team named was never going to win. Anyone that thought they would win was delusional whatever their record in the last few games played.

Sadly as a franchise we have a dreadful record in semi finals, think we lost 9 and only won four but the good thing is we have an amazing record in qtr finals

The Tottenham Hotspur of rugby union. Albeit more successful, obviously.

Who was saying that to you? Real people or what? Probably spoke to 30 or 40 different people about it to varying degrees and not one felt Munster would have a chance against leinster.

Agreed delusional to think we would have beaten Leinster. James Ryan has yet to taste defeat in I think 21 games as a pro! Phenomenal. Itā€™s likely we will play them in the Pro 14 semi in the RDS which wonā€™t be prettyšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

France away has never suited Munster traditionally*

Traditionally being since the European cup was invented in the mid 90ā€™s.

Who has it suited though? Interested to see how many teams have won away semis in france. Not that many id say. Even leinster couldnt beat clermont there last season despite being by far the better team

That is Captain Hindsight stuff.

Itā€™s not really. Donnacha Ryan is our best second row and should have been retained until the World Cup.

By forcing them to lose another young player theyā€™ve brought through in JC and Byrne when their incumbent is 33 and battered?

Do people forget where the likes of Keatley and Madigan came from in the first place?

If Ryan was from Leinster heā€™d have been retained.

Carberry is overrated. A show man thatā€™ll be found out. Another madigan.

It is.

Ryan had an awful track record with injuries. Far worse than Heaslip.

Nobody knew Heaslip would end up retiring. He was a key man for Ireland before he was injured, for many years.

Munster couldnā€™t pay him well out of their own pockets, such is life.

Leinster wonā€™t be trying a leg in the Magners League, itā€™s all about Europe for them now. Every chance Munster will beat them if thereā€™s a hangover from Bilboa.

They genuinely thought they would win the semi FFS. A dog with a mallet up its arse would have known the team named wasnā€™t good enough to win at the weekend.

Thatā€™s fine. You can keep your Leinster Reject there at 10.

Canā€™t agree with that

Heaslip said he knew straight after the England game his career was in massive danger. Leinster still had Conan and Murphy as replacements. Billy Holland is in his mid 30s.

Carberry has zero control of the game. Itā€™s absolutely insane heā€™s a sub for Ireland. He played against Treviso last week and hadnā€™t a single notion of how to play the game. Heā€™s grand in an open game but can you imagine in the pissing rain, pack under pressure and trying to win a World Cup for Ireland against New Zealand? Heā€™d be absolutely rinsed.

Why? They have a good record against Racing. Racing are very average IMO and will get shown up in the final. Munster were just absolutely rubbish yesterday
