I think, and this is my own theory because i have met him a number of times, but since Donnacha Ran has become a more central figure i think the whole thing moved on a bit. He is a very smart fella and has a nice mix of brute and good sporting culture about him. I think the slightly old school nature of the old Cork 2nd rows and POC etc kept him in the shadows somewhat. He was a leader bursting at the seams to get out.

Donnacha Ryan is a top top player. In the shadows for years behind two lads who got 100 caps a piece. They signed an identikit donnacha ryan in Kleyn
He is a great leader in fairness and has that bit of nastiness that is badly needed. A Hardy boy
