Teams, if they are so inclined can set up to completely avoid a teamâs 6. Put a workhorse at 11, attack down the flanks, deliver to the corners, shoot from outside and sit on the 6 the minute you turn over possession.
Just generally limits their influence and itâs not like your 6 can go charging up the pitch or go searching for the ball all over because he does have to worry about holding the centre too.
Seen it happen a lot. Obviously if teams hit anything down the middle, someone like Byrnes will clean up or if there are any poor deliveries, heâll cut them out.
Arguably, heâll stand out more against the big teams who are more likely to just play their own game rather than worrying about stopping a back.

They are indeed,we played them a few weeks ago and they had a right few 9/10s playing for the U11s to make up the numbers.In saying that they were well able to hurl.
Itâs quite strange, I had the exact same experience when I started posting here about 6 years ago,
There is no explanation, if you stick around and earn some respect he may end up brown nosing you, but itâs best just to try to ignore.
But heâs not the worst of them, as youâve found out

Well often end playing in the lower divisions underage, but really all you need is to bring through 1 or 2 lads a year into the senior setup and then make hay when you get a good crop.

You know what though if it makes them feel good and thats their idea of banter then so be it and as you say Im sure heâs far from the worst!

They might actually be better off with smaller playing numbers as youâd have more time to concentrate on the weaker lads,plus they have no soccer or football to contend with.

A nice theory but it just doesnât work like that. Youâll always lose a few to disinterest and couple will move on with work and stuff.
Even their supporting cast is moving on now too. Tom Nolan, Nigel foley, o Brien x 3, jack Kellerher and mark carmody are all 29 plus Iâd say at this stage.
