Limerick finished with a scoring difference of plus two points after 4 games last year. What an insanely competitive championship it was.

Hard to see Leinster offering anymore than last year. In fact I expect Kilkenny to regress and go in a full rebuilding mode.

The new pitch in Walsh park is huge compared to the old u12 sized dimensions and goals.
This will suit Waterford.

There players are still suited to wide open spaces no matter how much Davy employs his wacky tactics.
On the law of averages Waterford are going to come in the top 3 some year.
If they win that first game it would really shake up the championship, they’ve been abysmal in the round robin format so it has always been a case of really only having to finish above one team to get out of the province.
Limerick will have a game under their belt facing a Tipperary side coming in cold which could be advantageous.

Waterford have the makings of a good team but I don’t see them getting through under the current manager.
Cork will surely improve a bit but the reliance on Horgan for scores must end soon. Long past time for at least one other forward to step up.
Clare have been unbelievably consistent for the past few years. People seem to doubt them for some reason but they qualified with plenty to spare for the last two years.
And then there’s us, chasing 6 in a row, going back into the bear pit again.
