His decline is more noticeable this season.Slow on the turn and recovery pace is no where near what it was.
No shame in that.

Re point 2, Limerick definitely looks a better team in a more structured game. The team is pretty methodical at this stage, maybe even one-paced. Thatās what heās doing starting English at 8 I suppose. Bull is huge to this too, can take on his man. Must always play now. I wouldnāt mind seeing Reidy and English swap position. Reidy is a very clever hurler.
Just looking back as well, last 18 months Limerick are really starting to feel the loss of prime Flanagan (3 goal salvo notwithstanding) and Mulcahy from the attack. They were such good movers that fellas didnāt need to be so precise, both extremely accurate off the left and both worked like dogs. The likes of English, Cathal OāNeill, AOC havenāt fitted in quite as well and donāt have the movement or workrate or sure finishing of the two lads.
Peter Caseyās touch is still sharp but the striking is way off for him. Heāll be flying next year with a clear run at it.
Bull will surely be pressed into service in the half-forward line at some stage for a stint. His ball winning and physicality is massive and he is a great man to pop off a pass. Heās better inside but he just might be needed out there.
Yer gas men,ref blows for frees he ruins the game, ref doesnāt blow for frees he ruins the game.
A very stupid comment
Dublin is a great chance to take another look at Cathal O Neill at wing back.
He has all the attributes to do well there.
Theyāll stick with Byrnes
I think they will too, but heās been poor in 3 of the last 4 games against Cork and it canāt have gone unnoticed by the management.
That said, he has always matched up well against Kilkenny.
I think o Donovan for o Connor is the only likely change with English and o Donovan swapping positionally.
They need to get minutes into Peter Casey as a matter of urgency.
I be surprised by that or by con half back. Expect SOB comes back in, fitness permitting. The change id see would be CON for Tom.
I find myself nodding in agreement here. Would they look at Darragh as a possible alternative if necessary at 5?
He could be a potential 6.
Iād be surprised at any drastic leftfield change like that at this stage. I donāt think thereās time for major surgery to the team. Donāt think itās needed either.
I dont see starting positions changing. Byrnes will be fine. Its cover as injury if he goes down. Preferably someone that has the legs to cover ground
I think they stick with Byrnes but Coughlan and Hannon could be options. CON would be the outside choice but I donāt see it, he didnāt play there during the league. I donāt think DOD has ever played half back for limerick?
I donāt see JK experimenting too much from now on unless thereās an injury.
When Slaughtneil played Cushendall in a classic last winter the ref got huge praise for how he contributed to the game. If two players were going hard for a ball and a fraction early or late it was play on, if a fella was pulling and dragging a free was given. It wasnāt long into the game before players and spectators knew what was happening. In contrast on Saturday, Walsh decided he was letting everything go until he realised it was out of control and then started blowing for random stuff - by the end nobody knew what he was going to do next. In summary, the wrong Owens was brought on as a sub Saturday.
I think Owens may have been ref when it happened but given all the hub bub about head high tackles and what not during the league there was been no discussion whatsoever on Mike Caseyās Hurley to the head of Darragh Fitz last Saturday.
2 months ago lads were seeing red for far lesser offences and it would have been a big talking point in the days after. I thought a yellow was probably fair but it makes a bit of a joke of the clamp down over the spring only for it to be forgotten in championship which is all too often the case.
Thatās about the size of it. You can still let it flow while blowing up blanrant obvious freesā¦
It was more akin to a game of rubby at times Saturday.
