Issue isn’t 6 kiely dosent seem happy with the pressure the inside forwards are putting on defence I cannot remember Damien cahalane or Downey scoring off Flanagan or mulcahy or whoever was in the full back line I go back to the hooks and blocks especially in that 2018 game in cork
Eaten bread and all that, the day after the Tipp game I was working with two hurling experts(ex Munster supporters) who were demanding that Tom Morrisey be dropped as he was “finished”
Imagine, on a forum , lads are shooting the breeze discussing a few changes… what is the world coming to.
We’ll have @endakenny throwing a fit any second now.
He started unbelievably well the last day but faded badly. Coleman was all the sea in early exchanges but was one of Corks most influential players thereafter. I dont see need to change anything based on losing on penalties from a Limerick pov. The big thing on Morrissey is his role seems to have changed. He finds himself on the end of moves now rather than instigating them. 2 or 3 years ago he would be back in that Byrnes channel foraging away for breaking ball and then joining the attack. Byrnes hasnt received much help from half forward line and they seem to be entrusting Will O Donoghue to do much of this donkey work. To be fair to O Donoghue he will put the hits in, swarm in the tackle and block up route to goal (all huge pluses) but he can be statuesque at times vs the perpetual motion that was Morrissey from 2 or 3 years ago.
As witnessed the other night… if they’re to win it out they’re going to need more from the bench.
So they’ll have to give 2/3 lads a good chunclk of minutes in some fashion the next day
It’s not like there’s a fine line between being whistle happy and leaving it in the pocket. There’s a sizeable balance that can be met and has been met by many refs through the years.
Yeah. Just because cork shoot a lot from that wing doesn’t necessarily mean it’s byrnes’ at fault for scores.
100%.
Even if you watched Cork v Tipp twice, the majority of damage is done along that wing.
Very good.
There was no problem when John Keenan swallowed the whistle in Thurles a few years ago.
All the talk about dropping Tom, Reidy or moving English from MF.
The weak link currently imo is WOD but Fanta pants won’t acknowledge that but rather drop a scoring forward in Tom.
Anytime WOD gets the ball currently he is getting rid like it’s a hot potato and it’s irrelevant where it goes to him.
His tackling and general stick work has dropped off massively from a few seasons ago.
No but - Harnedy alone was responsible for a lot of damage. As he has done every game against us for 2/3 years. Byrnes isnt tight enough on him.
Diarmuid Ryan in last year final caused Harnedy much more problems and scored 0-3 from wing back. If we are lucky enough to get another shot at Cork and that’s a big if - we will need to shut him down
I think Cathal O Neill would have the legs for him - and would make him move in the other direction.
Limerick have often had average semi final performances after the 4 week break over the years.
Not sure the extra game is that harmful to limerick provided they win it.
14 days to a Dublin game where they can get game time into players who missed the league (DOD, Casey, Hannon) and then another 15 days to prep for KK if they beat Dublin.
Stick work was never his thing really. But he’s really struggling to get around the field doing the grappling and nuisance work he was picked for.
Just heard thomas Walsh and Pat Ryan are first cousins.is this correct?
This forum is really circling the drain these days.
Pat Ryan is also Pat Spillane’s first cousin
Hardly a shocker
Is he? He’s been largely fine bar last week where he was swamped in the middle…Adam lends to a certain game but a big congested middle is not really his game… obviously time waits for no man either and he’s not the Will of 2/3 year ago
Yeah when he has the ball he becomes irrelevant.
Hes not going to score, hes not going to run with it and you know he just wants to dish it off to someone so teams double up on Lynch or Hayes who they know he’s looking for. He is still a key player but teams have cottoned onto the fact that he has his limitations and are happy to let him beat them as opposed to the 2 others I mentioned. Hes 32 now and time waits for no man so not realistic to expect that he covers same ground, makes same tackle count and same volume of hits. His performance vs Kilkenny in AI final rout was probably his peak.
The guy asked a question and the fun police gather to attack him… there’s a serious collection of drips on here that want to dictate what can be posted.
Here’s a small bit of advice. Fuck off for yourself.
