He was poor enough in last 2 games I saw . He offers more as a forward at this point . TDB is an incalculable loss for Deise.
Iād be very happy to see him at centre back in a few weeks time. He could well end up motm from there but just as likely be a liability. I will take that type of variability
Forde over Callanan? I know Callanan isnāt currently fit, but heās basically just a way better version of Forde.
Callanan is a generational goalscorer . The best finisher of the last decade
You rascal
Yerrah on known form Waterford should beat us with a bit to spare. But I think we very much have a punchers chance especially without De Burca at centre back.
Our backs were woeful last year and havenāt improved all that much in the mean time but the likes of Diarmuid Ryan and Conlon are doing a fairly good job getting on ball and setting up attacks while a number of our forwards are hitting form. We will put up a score, question is can we stop Waterford doing the same.
On Daloās podcast they were asking if he would be better at wing back
I think he lacks the discipline to be a 6 . Better where he can roam
Clare could best Waterford and if they do will give Tipp bags .
when a lad is 25 and fellas are still talking about potential and trying to find his position itās a bit of a red flag
Clare are the whipping boys again. They wouldnāt beat either.
As Iāve said many times before, TJ Reid and Callanan were nowhere near the players they developed into until the second half of their 20s. Horgan was late 20s.
They were saying the same about Declan Hannon in mid 2018
A former HOTY doesnt need his potential questioned. His problem is that the team need him in a number of different positions. Youāll get that in counties outside the elite sadly.
Exactly. And Gleeson has already made a bigger impact than Hannon did up to that point.
Gleeson got too much, too soon.
The alarm bells were ringing after he won HOTY and said he couldnāt handle the pressure or expectation of dealing with it.
Has never really kicked on to be that kind of dominant player that Waterford have needed. Heāll always come up with moments of class but a tendency to drift out of matches has hampered him in recent years.
I think he would. His best assets are fielding and his ability to run with the ball. Most 6s only get rare forays forward.
Half-forward or half-back for me. He had a good year last year to be fair.
He had a good couple of games at the end. Before that there was talks of dropping him
He was dreadful for the 2nd (?) Galway goal on Sunday last . He always has a tendency to think he can do a modern senior IC what he could do at minor level .
TDB found plenty opportunity to bomb forward last year in fairness. Depends on the system? Iād agree he might have more opportunity to attack on the wing and might create more that way.
But he was firing last year as a forward, they really should have left him there and not be fucking around moving him to another position again.
