All neutral games in pandemic
I wonder will they go back to the round robin championship next year ,?
Waterford’s game is based on a lot of honest effort in the middle third and I have no doubt they will put in a performance regardless of their defensive injuries. Question is will they be able to dominate that middle third as well as they did last year? Clare are far improved and more balanced in that area compared to last winter. While Conlon may not be perfect at centre back he looks a far more prominent and physical presence there compared to the likes of Morey last year.
Diarmuid Ryan and Aidan McCarthy are big upgrades on what was there last year too. Be interesting to see if Calum Lyons is given the man marking job on Kelly again, it looked like it worked well enough last year but the obvious caveat of Kelly’s early ankle injury applies. While he may well impact Kelly I think it also negates his own attacking threat which is a big weapon for Waterford. Maybe someone like Conor Gleeson might be given the job this time.
Was it broken ribs or what did he do?
I believe so.
Breheny seething at Limerick. He’d fit in well here.
The cards are falling for Clare. I am hearing Jamie Barron is injured and out for next week.
Prunty, Barron and P Curran all out
Throw in TDB, SOK, Mahony x2 and possibly Gleeson and Waterford are probably down their 7 best players from 2017.
More depleted than the summer of 2018.
Shanagher will score two goals
Darragh Lyons and Jake Dillon also touch and go.
Fives and Gleeson expected to make it.
Not huge losses
How did Barron get injured?
Darragh Lyons would probably be starting midfield with the current injuries we have so I’d say his loss will definitely be felt. Played. Very well v Tipp and go onto a huge amount of ball and ran well with it.
In training last night I believe.
I don’t rate him at all, very inconsistent and a frustrating player to watch. Then again, I’m not Liam Cahill
Darragh Lyons was always good. Was excellent as a 19 year old on the under 21 team of 2016.
Maybe not top, top class but a very good option from the bench.
Waterford should really be winning this but injuries may do for them.
The Dalcassians are doughty hoors too and I fancy them to edge it.
@Fagan_ODowd very quiet. He knows a storm is a coming.
Normally he would be in here braying like an ass.
