Waterford are good at doing it too
The only thing in Waterfords favour is they arenât 15 points down like they should be and they canât possibly be as bad again in the second half.
Theres a few Waterford forwards who have barely touched a ball. Fagan, Hutchinson any of them really.
Itâs too late to correct the post but yes, I did mean Waterford
A good few instances in that half where there was a loose ball and you had Waterford lads standing around looking at each other like a Sergio Leone gunfight.
I think you are underestimating the way Lohan has setup Clare. He has really bottled up the Clare HB line and Waterford have no ball out from defence.
Add that and theyâre running threat is non existent
He is the bones of 31 Iâd say. Think he played hockey for Ireland. An utter rash of a defender, no hurling but knows his limitations. He is doing fine and using the ball well by keeping it simple.
Lohan deserves credit for bringing him in. Most would have seen him as too old, he has been Sixmilebridgeâs go to man marker for a number of years. The kind of whole hearted honest application lad Lohan would appreciate
Still wouldnât say this is over, even though Clare should be about 19 points ahead.
Clare mustnât have much on the bench if Aaron Shan is left on.
Shanagher is trying hard and causing problems I think. They darent leave him. Heâs a good target man. One poor effort on goal. Question here is can Waterford cut out the wides. They got caught badly by losing the spine of the team, but playing into the wind didnât suit their set up at all in the first half. They couldnât score from far out, and Clare were already prepared to play deep and crowd out the forwards.
Not over yet, but if Clare hadnât got so many awful wides, it would be.
Iâve said it before and Iâll say it again, I wouldnât have Darragh Lyons near the Waterford panel never mind on the starting 15, yet again he is useless. Moran and Fives are finished and McNulty is a bomb scare. Making a poor Clare team look good, Conlon looks like Seanie McMahon out there
Waterford without De Burca and Barron are only Joe McDonagh level really.
I think the only thing that might be is that the breeze is sweeping across and not just down the field which makes them long range pit shots slightly more difficult. But half a dozen of them wides were very poor
Poor fare overall in the first half⌠to be fair.
This sin bin in hurling is a cod.
Colm Lyons has been bizarre in his application of the rules too. Blatent frees ignored, non existent frees given. Steps completely ignored.
The Limerick boys are afraid
Cant decide who is the most annoying Ursula Jacob or Donal Og
Shefflin
Two of the better pundits imo.
They both talk scutter, but at least one of them has a voice that doesnât sound like metal on metal.
