Itâs not often they get it wrong but I couldnât understand how they priced it up. 4/7 on a side missing so many key players was just bonkers.

Waterfordâs six starting forwards combined for a total of three shots in the first half yesterday. Diarmuid Ryan at wing back for Clare had as many in the same half.
I wonder was the Clare shooting so aimless as the game itself drifted aimlessly along for the most part?
It was also a wide kind of breeze. Not strong enough to dissuade from snap shooting, but gentle enough to encourage it. It was a frankly bizarre game in every aspect.
The breeze appeared to be blowing down into the left hand corner. A lot of the pot shots drifted to that side of the post. While stiff enough it was probably a tricky enough breeze to gauge. Waterford had 15 and Clare 22 wides. They really suck the life out of games

The Waterford half forward line was utterly non existent yesterday for most of the game .

Fair play to him. I would imagine he was overlooked because of his style. He looks likes heâs hurling with his shoulders rather than wrists. I was laughing at him the first few balls, he looked awkward as fuck. But he did his job well in fairness.

Yerrah they were nobodies for their first 70 odd years of their existence. But since the late 70s and their first county title they have been the dominant force for the most part.
They had a bad run for half dozen years or so in the late 2000s. Only for Gilli they could easily have dropped to intermediate. Given their success underage and at adult level their contribution to the senior side has been poor over the last decade. Malone the only real solid contributor and he was already on the senior panel before he transferred in.
Iâm told soccer in the town is seen as a very big threat to their underage teams currently.

Lohan likes lads who will defend and hit hard in the tackle above their hurling ability. There is no comparison in ability between Paudi and David Fitzgerald but you simply canât rely on David Fitz despite his ability.
Clare backs utterly ate the Waterford forwards in that first half on Sunday. They were snarling and in their face and they had no space whatsoever. Just as Lohan wanted.
