Canât really remember it but I think Mayoâs 12th score which was well taken was quite a soft turnover.
Donegal kicked that away. It was rather poignant seeing Michael Murphy scuffing an attempt from 40 yards harmlessly wide along the ground.
I always felt Mayo would somehow wriggle off the hook.
Derry and Down relegated.
A pity to see them that far down
Down still have a game against Tipp who wonât bother.
But Meath have a gimme against Louth.
Mayo have provided some entertainment over the last 5 or 6 years. Great men
Special word for Kevin McStay, continuing to ram it down the begrudgers throats
They are gone. Meath will beat Louth handy.
Meath are all over the shop so that was a huge chance for Down. Meath completely changed their tactics and style over past 2 weeks.
They hot a kick today but I believe now they have lost 10 lads from last yearâs panel.
Meath is no longer a serious GAA county.
Themselves and Derry labour under delusions of grandeur due to past glories.
Itâs not a coincidence that these are the counties of Joe Brolly and Colm OâRourke.
Defeatist thinking begets defeats.
Evan Comerford is the name of the Tipp goalie and the Dublin goalie, bizarre.
Their managers preferred training method is to run the absolute shit out of them, lads will get a pain in their hoop with that, especially more seasoned players .
They are on a par with Cork hurling up to recent years. They think they are still in late 80âs/early 90âs.
Some of the stuff going on there is mad
I know iâll get pilloried as he has a club AI but he is a bluffer. He got lucky with Ballyhornan who had a quality set of players.
All his teams start really slow and finish strong.
That doesnât work at IC.
Not to mention the mental training they do physically.
Derry is very bizarre. Theyâre a county who consistently do well at underage, have a very strong club scene, dominate Ulster schools over the past few years but when it comes to senior county, there seems to be complete apathy from the players.
Itâs usually the players who turn down the call for the county but from what I heard, their best player over the past 2-3 seasons, Danny Heavron was not called up to the county panel this year. I donât know how true or not it is but it would be scandalous if it is the case.
Donât mind if I do

Fuck Donegal anyway
Per head of population and leaving Derry City out of things, I would say Derry has probably the strongest club scene in Ireland. Since Lavey in 1991, Derry teams have always been at the very least serious contenders in Ulster and at least six different Derry clubs have won Ulster.
But like Meath, their great team of the 1990s has never produced a manager who could harness their current potential. Theyâre crying out for an Anthony Tohill or a Henry Downey to act as a totemic figure.
The reality is that as a county, they just donât seem that bothered about doing well.
Monaghan beat the dubs, Tyrone beat Kerry
Ffs
Both dead rubbers
Those rumours are correct I believe
