National Hurling League 2026

That Qualifier Double header had Cork and Wexford playing too the same night.

15K between them all tells you everything you need to know.

Thankfully the split season brought the crowds back to the games

That Tipperary is a kip and is best avoided?

Cork have the biggest support AND the biggest population

Poor old Rob Ryan breaks out in a sweat when the turnstile operators need to manage a crowd of over 15k

The corresponding double header in 2017 had Tipp, Dublin, Waterford and Kilkenny playing and had over twice the attendance.

The Quarter Finals and Semi Finals that same year had over 200k in attendance which was incredible and hasnt been broken since.

Its a bit of a lose lose for Cork on Saturday and I’m surprised by the crowd its garnering.

Tipp will probably look to blood 2/3 of O’Reilly, Keller, Ceaser (think hes injured), Paddy Mccormack and maybe give sub appearances to the likes of Adam Daly or Cathal English.
Tipp kept their 6 backs fit all the way through 2025 and thats an unlikely set of circumstances once again so need O’Reilly, Ceaser, Kennedy to be in form.

Cork need to sort their freetaker out during the league, the last time Hoggie wasn’t playing they lost to Galway in a QF. Connolly is fairly hit and miss off them and has a weird style. I would have doubts about Daire O’Leary on the ball and the GK is always a bomb scare.

Cork by 10 I reckon.

I’m genuinely shocked at you.
You have to keep the tyres on a motor bike in top condition.

Could be money to be made on carlow. Wexford surely favourites with the bookies.

It’s always dark

Tipp fan surprised at fans going to games, standard :joy:

Cork will have 3 sent off this weekend

Wexford 1-13, Antrim 1-12 at Chadwicks Wexford Park (Allianz Hurling League Division 1B, Round 1 on 24 January 2026) drew 1,831 spectators.

100%. Shaping up to be the preeminent rivalry for the next few years but Clare have plenty coming too so it could eventually end up as a Tipp v Clare 2.0 rivalry by 2030. Although hardly as epic as the late 90’s. Cork need to win one soon before their window of opportunity passes.

I was in New Zealand that year anyway and couldn’t attend, I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to all those concerned.

I’ve consistently argued every single senior league & championship fixture for each county should be available online…but why the fuck is Wexford-Carlow live on television?!

No football this weekend is the reason.

I fancy Carlow here
