Alright
I’ve done some work on setting up the new forum which will be more integrated with the rest of the site.
The new forum that’s up there is just a trial - I haven’t changed the look or layout at all so don’t worry about appearances.
Also I’ve transferred some old data from our SMF forum to the new forum - none of Fingal Raven’s posts transferred. Not sure about anybody else but I know what the problem was, just not how to fix it yet.
Anyway the link to the forum is on the left hand side under “tempboard” - you’ll probably have to log in the first time again but it should be the same username and password as the old board if I converted all the old data properly.
So I’d appreciate if some of ye could go into the new board and let me know what it’s missing and what can be improved. Try not to focus on colours and things like that but if there are layout problems let me know.
Issues I know about already are:
- Personal messages aren’t there from what I can see. Need to get them back
- Need to update the code for posting youtube, google video etc. - not a problem
- The old posts that had more than 5 pages or something have split into separate posts - hopefully I can solve that: this is only a temporary, trial board
- Everyone’s karma has been reset to zero. Not a huge problem
So if you get a chance just click into a few threads or post a bit of nonsense and let me know what problems you can see with it (especially anything to do with speed or performance etc.)
