Why do almost every GAA jersey these days look like a cartoon character vomited a rainbow onto a plastic bag. They all seem to be cheap nylon, garish colours and woeful design flourishes. The cotton-type jerseys from the 70’s with the plain county colours are much better imho.
It goes in cycles. The simple design will come back into fashion in a few years. The worst county jersey I ever saw was the first batch Vodafone/Eircell designed for Clare when they started sponsoring us in 2000. They were offensively bad.
O Neills need to get with the times and produce fan jerseys along with player style jersey…

Azzurri kits are fucking dirt. There is no exception. I find the Kildare kit to be profoundly offensive also.
Am I right in saying the Wexford senior kits were different to their underage or minor ones this year?
In the last few years there have been some very decent efforts. The current Dublin, Down and Tyrone jerseys are all excellent. but all will likely have new ones next year which will probably be abominations. The Cork away jersey as worn against Down is simple yet elegant. Limerick’s current home jersey is the simplest of them all.
Mayo’s horrible new jersey is the clearest sign yet that the designers are about to seriously lose the plot again.

I was out in the Gaelic grounds oct-10 getting a batch of tickets for the international rules. Spike showed me a number of jersey options for the green and white options. I picked the plain green and the simple white and told him to look no further. He did what he was told and we have two nice jerseys now.
