The new Fiona Apple album, Fetch the Bolt Cutters.
A staggering work of genius, the album she’s threatened to make all her life.
Turn it up ta fuck.
Listened to it there. Not my bag at all.
She’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it deserves repeated listens.
PJ Harvey lite.
Rolling stone losing their mind over it.
I haven’t listened to this yet but I’m a huge fan of these guys. I’m a true believer in them.
I’d say that’s their best song.
Hup ta fuck.
It’s the kind of song you’d love as a chap … full to the gills of cheap beer and half entertaining notions of starting an argument with some randomers while also keeping an eye on a piece of skirt across the bar who an hour ago you wouldnt touch but seeing as her good looking friend is now full of herself you’ve decided the lesser friend is now a ride.
You wake up 8 hours later on your couch alone stinking of garlic chips.
I don’t say this likely but he sounds a little like a celtic Liam Gallagher (@Fulvio_From_Aughnacloy ) I thought their first album was OK, had its moments for sure but I didnt really get into it. I think I preferred Girl Band that year. I’m not getting carried away, I dont like the other two singles they released as much but if the album is all as good as this then it will be 10/10.
Absolutely loving it mate. There’s joy division, strokes, beach boys, horrors even u2 in there. They’ve come on hugely. As one reviewer said it’s like arctic monkeys jumping from their first lp to the queens of Stone Age influences stuff
Singer’s vocal improvement and changes are very noticeable too
Went a bit OTT on the 12” purchase today
Yeah. It’s mesmerising stuff. A proper album.
I’m on the vinyl bandwagon on back of it, Taylor’s new one and Tim’s listening parties
Tim gets on my tits but admire his initiative
Meh. They can’t decide whether they want to be Whipping Boy, Joy Division or Liam Gallagher. The moody arty stick has been done to death at this stage. Still a stratosphere above the coronas mind you. No where near the same stratosphere as Kneecapped for serious modern Irish music though
