New York City the greatest city on earth after London

Roaster alert

It’s nuts. There’s stairs and escalators going in every direction. Tube lines going everywhere.

I took a wrong line in Canary Wharf going to the Excel and it took me to God knows where.

Heuston Station is very easy in comparison.

Carmeggedon

Going up and down the stairs and escalators and connections on the tube is fucking draining. Uber was the job if traffic not too bad. Camden, shoreditch/aldgate and southbank are good spots. St Paul’s/Gherkin area in the City during the week are decent.

That’s Fermoy on a match day before they buit the bypass

You must have been some sight on the wrong side of the escalator with your salmon coloured shirt tucked into your boot cut jeans and wearing a pair of brown pointy shoes.

Fucking hell, @MacRoaster

Do ye have any recommendations for accommodation?

First time in NY proper today. Staying with a cousin who emigrated to Yonkers 31 years ago. The Big Apple is a different planet.

Took a train back to Woodlawn from Grand Central this evening, a black dude and black lady arguing over him bumping into her. He was getting off, and then stayed on board to continue arguing with her. Fantastic entertainment for half an hour ensued.

The whiff of gange everywhere is conspicuous. Like, I smelt it on nearly every block in Manhattan. You see the most random shit there too that you’d never see anywhere else - a guy carrying a small sofa on his back for 5 blocks, a lady walking her 7 or 8 cats down West 42nd Street. It’s just bonkers.

Funniest thing I heard was on the ferry out to Statue of Liberty. The tour guide announces there is a photographer on board for anyone who wants their prints taken - “his name is Mohammed”. The Yank in front of me whispers to the wife….”Christ they’ve fucking gone from blowing up planes to blowing up boats”

Yes have discussed going down to Gaelic Park for the game. Think the cousin will come along.

A grand Good Friday mass in St Patrick’s. It does the soul good.

I don’t think that’s the real one…

They bring it in for the winter

This must be one of the most photographed companies by Irish visitors to NYC🤣

The possibility, however slim, of a ride is never far from Paddy’s mind.

More chance of shooting one of Maggie’s Paras, or blowing them to bits
