Next Celtic Manager 2016

Why? Heā€™s had a very mediocre career since Norwich.

  1. I think he did ok at Aston Villa in retrospect. Theyā€™ve been godawful since he left. He did fine with them for a while and then they definitely slumped but they were a club with big problems.

  2. Blackburn are just as big a mess off the field.

  3. His record at Norwich was superb. Consecutive promotions to get to the EPL is a fantastic achievement.

  4. He did well at Colchester and Wycome before that.

  5. I donā€™t think Celtic will have a huge pick of options. Iā€™d probably be happy enough with Moyes or Rodgers. I like both Clarke and Lambert though they have flaws. I remain worried that Lennon will be reappointed.

Or you could say he ran Villa into the ground completely. A matter of perspective I suppose.

I would describe it as an unambitious apointment. The board know heā€™ll get plenty of slack from the fans and he wonā€™t be expensive or overly demanding.

I donā€™t think heā€™d be a particularly popular appointment and Iā€™m not sure heā€™ll get much slack.

I guess the level of ambition is a matter of perspective. I thought the Deila appointment made an awful lot of sense. He had a good pedigree in a smaller league, had a clear vision for the team and the club and we had a unique window to give 2 years over to a ā€œproject.ā€ Sadly that didnā€™t end well but I thought it was a decent idea.

Iā€™m not sure what would constitute an ambitious move now. Thereā€™s nobody being mentioned who would really be a huge departure. I guess Rodgers or Moyes might fit that bill but Iā€™m not sure either of them would take the job.

If it comes down to Lambert v Lennon v Mackay then Iā€™d take Lambert in a heartbeat.

Whatā€™s the big problem with Lennon?

Never go back and all that stuff.

Weā€™ve been there. He did really well at times, by the end of his tenure he seemed to grow tired, his team selection grew predictable and conservative. I donā€™t think heā€™d be a disaster but I want some excitement.

@Nembo_Kid seems strongly against him.

Roberto Martinez will get the job.

I wouldnā€™t be too keen on Lambert being appointed.

Hands off Derek McInnes.

Steven Gerrard could get this

@Bandage Lambert is a horrible cunt, imagine been at Villa and him and keane in the dressing room

.

ā€œWell, itā€™s an incredible club, a club that family and everyone support.

ā€œObviously the league isnā€™t so competitive but Celtic are one of the great iconic clubs in the world, a huge club.

ā€œI think Ronny has done a great job there, it looks like they will go on and win the title so that is two titles in a row. So Iā€™ll be sad to see him go but there is an opportunity for somebody there to go to a great club.ā€

He doesnā€™t seem to be expressing his own interest there though.

Rodgers is a spoofer but fuck it, I think he would bring a bit of enthusiasm with him.

Rodgers has been offered the job

Heā€™ll be off to Swansea. I donā€™t think he has any interest in taking the job.

Thatā€™s from our inside source isnā€™t it?

It is mate. Offered doesnā€™t mean heā€™ll take it but heā€™s odds on with Boyles per @Funtime

UPDATE

Our inside source has just texted to say Rodgers has the job

Guidolin will be in charge of Swansea next season after signing a two year extensions.

Looks like Rodgers could well be the man.
