Patrick McPatrickgillacuddy
David Moyes.
Lock the thread.
I hate his smug superior attitude. He was a crap player who thought he was too good for Celtic.
If they are going for a shit appointment like McNamara then the board should leak an Owen Coyle story first. Anyone would look good compared to him.
Lennon involved in the appointment is plain odd. Is that speculation or confirmed? Though Eddie Irvine seemed to have this role before so I guess this would be marginally more sensible.

It’s confirmed.
If the outgoing manager gets to pick his successor it’ll surely be Moyesie.

Celtic have belatedly confirmed his departure on the official website and the piece about assisting with selecting a new manager is included amidst the thanks and best wishes quotes from all sides.
Sources close to me indicated earlier that Malky Mackay had withdrawn from the running for the Norwich City job when Lennon quit Celtic. Norwich have now announced the permanent appointment of Neil Adams as manager.
If Henke comes, Zlatan will follow.
Some alternative suggestions:
Vitor Perreira - Replaced AVB at Porto and won two league titles. Moved to Saudi Arabia (where he probably got his fill of cash) and resigned in May. Seems like he might be a bit of an arsehole but worth thinking about. He’s out of a job so might be tempted.
Murat Yakin - Just won two Swiss titles back to back in his first two seasons with Basel. They were good in Europe this year, coming third in the CL (despite beating Chelsea twice) and then they got to the last 8 of the Europa League before going out to Valencia after extra time. Has left Basel, not sure why, so he’s also available. We used to be perennially linked to his brother so he’ll be very familiar with us.
Sami Hyypia - All went a bit crap for him this season after a promising start. Still has a decent pedigree and has European experience but don’t think I’d prefer him to Steve Clarke for example.
René Girard - He has a job so that might be a problem. He’s managing Lille at the moment, having replaced Rudi Garcia. He won the league with Montpellier a couple of years ago. Got Lille to third last season which was impressive so he’s probably unlikely to leave now.
Claude Puel - Managing Nice at the moment. They’ve just had a poor season, narrowly avoiding relegation but he did well with Lille when they were Champions League regulars a good few years ago and he got Lyon to a Champions League semi-final in 2010. Not done much since though.
Fred Rutten - Another guy that would be tough to convince. Managed a very young Feyernoord side to second place in the Eredivisie. He did that after getting Vitesse to 4th place and managed PSV before that with limited trophy success though they were unfortunate.
Neil Lennon interview now on SSN.
Wasn’t much in that. Sounds like his role in choosing the new manager will be minimal.
Yeah, that fat cunt from STV and Luke from SSN chasing him through Glasgow Airport arrivals hall. Agreed on the new manager aspect.
Further reports on that this evening that Mackay was offered the Norwich job but declined. Hmmm.
Sources a moderate distance away from me now indicate that Henrik Larsson will be the next manager of Celtic.
Have those sources ruled out Dan Petrescu?
Yes.
Pat Fenlon is the only man for the job.
