On the radio this morning - reckons if Waterford are level with 10 minutes to go they won’t be far away at the end. Really going out on a limb there.
Also mentioned a new rule for Congress - mentioned that it concerned two yellow cards so I presumed it would be for automatic suspensions. Quite the opposite, it’s that players who have received a second yellow card can be replaced by a substitute. That of course is sheer idiocy. Nothing to stop a corner back from fouling his man until he’s automatically substituted because it hurts nobody. You’ll just get far more pulling and dragging and personal fouls committed with the reduced consequences and it will eventually result in the smarter players picking up an early booking so if they lose the head it will mean two yellow cards and no punishment instead of a straight red - which never happens to a guy on a yellow as discussed before on here.
I never really thought he was a poor president, as generally I htought, what does a president really do? Much like a good ref, a president goes in, lets things flow smoothly and does what he has to when an altercation or something needs to be corrected.
Brennan is like a junior B ref. Ah sure pull away lads, and then I’ll give a free the other way. Hasnt a clue whats going on and doesnt realise that the main issues in the GA over the last 2 years (GPA prefessionalism and dicipline) he has comeltely and utterly lost all control over. And his stupid soundbites then every so often.
brennan is nothing short of a joke…self serving prick…he will leave little or no legacy behind him…can’t think of one improvement the gaa has made under nickey with his big ignorant head…
I’m not going to start on this
But during Up for the Match last night they showed the open scene on the very first Sunday Game 30 yrs ago; and who’s fucking bake was in the frame with Carneys?
Just did a search for ‘congress’ and this is what I found. Anyway, the Galway Hurling Board voted in favour of joining the Leinster championship in a special convention in Athenry last night. It will now be voted on at congress next week despite opposition from Wexford, Dublin, Offaly and Westmeath. I’m not pused either way and I still think a new non-province based championship structure is the way forward.
