Your man on the Irish History Podcast had an episode on that recently enough.
Itâs a great story alright.
The Ballycannon boys
Myself and Mrs Barnes are staying in Fota on Saturday night. We were thinking of heading into Cobh Saturday night for a few pints. Can any of you cultured Corconians recommend a decent pub or two?
Canât help you. Cobh is part of the UK.
Cobh is the equivalent of Chernobyl kid.
Says the lad living in Passage!
Mrs OâSullivan wouldnât let her grandkids grow up in passage.
I was in Cobh a few years ago with the kids for a day and liked it.
Look no further than Ryans mate. Great bantz with the locals and friendly bar staff. Good place for watching any match
Iâve only passed through, never had a hugh heinz.
Sure Callan was just a notch on Cromwellâs bedpost.
Cobh is nice but thereâs defo a very âAngloâ feel to the town. It was a âTreaty Portâ after all. Itâs unlike any other town in East Cork.
I wouldnât go to Cobh. Assuming ye will be getting a taxi then much of a muchness to go to carrigtwohill or over to the Rising Tide in glounthane which is a very nice bar
Was down there a few weeks ago and went to The Elm Tree on recommendations here and it was excellent. Alot better than the food in the hotel bar. If youâre going, book an early slot. Seemed to be alot waiting on tables later on.
âBigâ port or seaside towns take on a life of their own. Youghal isnât particularly similar to the rest of East Cork either.
