Really? Worrying times for Ireland. That’s a terrible selection.
Narrative
Ewan was on a crusade a few years ago highlighting that sometimes the Irish rugby team would have 3-4 players educated in Ireland who didn’t go to fee paying schools. The IRFU have acted on that fairly swiftly and have it down to just Tadhg Furlong now I think looking at that starting 15.
That young Doak is a savage player and should be playing Saturday. Lowe and Gibson park have never been good enough yet still start. Carberry has been utterly shocking yet makes the bench.
Proper order too, you saw what the likes of that Fighting Cocks animal did.
I really don’t understand playing (what Farrell clearly thinks is) the strongest team available in a game like this. Opportunity missed to start three to four younger or fringe players and give them a game in a strong team with a run out against NZ to follow.
Farrell’s selections are hopeless.
Ridiculously conservative.
No larmour in the squad. Shows pecking order.
POM managing to cling on with more than a few breathing down his neck. Would have preferred seeing some younger blood off the bench. and perhaps Peter experience back for All Blacks. Not much to learn bringing POM on against Japan
Lowe being given another bite at the international apple. Can’t cut it this weekend, bin him for good.
They should have gotten rid of him after the last six nations. There might still be time to get rid of him after the coming six Nations.
Zero chance. Nobody would touch the job. Way too close to the World Cup.
3 that should never have qualified for ireland.
Lining up for a quarter final defeat in 2 years
Of course you’d get someone. It might not be a big recognisable name but you’d get someone.
Is that Gibson Park chap not rubbish?
[Eddie OSullivan enters chatroom]
Kidding, fucker gets nowhere near it. Not sure what names would look at it tho
He is. But he’s foreign.
Lancaster and or Cullen would hardly refuse. Andy Friend would hardly refuse.
Wouldn’t give to Leo. If Lancaster took it, would do a great job
As Gerry Thornley would say Lowe brings an “x factor”
