A few notes I made were it’s a very slow Irish team. Beirne is so slow as a six. Hansen the only back with real pace too and Gibson park tbf.
That’s why I figured they’d lose in the World Cup. They don’t have lads who can magic things up out of nothing.
I never really like centres like aki. I’d give Osbourne a chance. A second play maker. We were always good in the air. I’d like to see a return to a tactical kicking game.
I’d have doubts about Farrell but I think the young lads are there.

That was post game. I didn’t think Farrell would cost them but I did think pre game they lack players who can come up with a try out of nothing.

I’d make a good few changes for the Argentina game. Beirne to second row, Ryan to the bench. Would have liked Ahern or Baird for six but throw in izuchukwu. Osbourne for Aki and henshaw on the bench. Stockdale for lowe. Casey on the bench. I don’t know who we else is fit cover back row on the bench to replace POM.
Your man Kelleher is a poor enough thrower. Wouldn’t shock me if herring and Pom start.

I’d agree with Beirne back to the row. I think I’d bench McCarthy over Ryan - gives some big energy impact off the bench. I’d have Izachuku starting and maybe Prendergast on the bench. POMs time has ended unfortunately and it’s time for a new generation. Casey comes in for Murray and Osbourne too.

This is more of it. I don’t get the Argentinian guy saying playing in Ireland in Dublin will be a big test etc. Argentina have beaten them all this year home and away. It’s the other way around surely! To play devils advocate about this the one thing they have to sort is the ten position.
You can’t be having lads starting ten and staring over at the bench to see if he’s coming off.
Whoever Farrell backs is best off surrounded by experienced players.
You see England with Wilkinson, carter and nz even South Africa with pollard.
The World Cup winners tend to have extremely good players at ten.
If you don’t get that right it’s highly unlikely we’ll win a World Cup anyway.
The lads on tfk do love dropping everyone for younger players all the same.
