Watched it about 20 times now and in slow motion. I have to give that to white. They’re saying red dived in, I don’t think she dived at all. White was coursing the hare, red just ran by them. Only thing that favours red is that puss turned to the white side but she was turning when red was a neck down and it was white that turned her.
This is the biggest sports story of 2013 so far and it looks like it will run and run.
You always go with your first gut instinct in cases like this and it is rarely wrong, same as with photo finishes in horse or greyhound racing. I said then what i say now, and that is the same as how i voted. I would ask you to consider editing your post there SS** to exclude the bitch you think is up, as your informed opinion is likely to impact on the way others vote on this poll, and we want the results of the poll to be pure and realistic.
I hope this thread will be reasoned and there will be no violence.
I think the judge should have removed his hat and given an undecided.
The hare favoured the white collar, but looked like there was nothing in it when they turned the hare. But red collar almost certainly didn’t win it, at least not from that camera angle.
Never understood why there aren’t three judges at big meetings like the Derby and Irish Cup. Two mounted, one on either side of the field, and one on the ground. Majority decision of three wins.
At first watch (but probably influenced by the commentary) I thought red had dived down at the hare, but on a rewatch it’s obvious she didn’t stir and as SS says simply ran past as the white got the turn.
