John Power of Kilkenny in 2009 being a classic of this genre.

Dean Mason also of Kilkenny had nightmare in the 2017 Semi Final but has since gone on to be a very accomplished goalie.

Some turnaround in fortunes for Clare underage hurling shipping a 40 point beating two years ago to producing this minor team.

They beat Cork by 14. This has been their worst performance of the year unfortunately. By a mile.

Clare look far far stronger physically than Galway

Cork were the 3rd best team in Munster in reality. Any of the Clare lads who have followed the championship will tell you that.

Munster was really competitive. Even Tipp and Waterford had their excellent performances despite filling the bottom 2 slots.

Clare are battle hardened

Galway are great lads to cycle downhill

Kilkenny gave Clare plenty of it for long spells even with only 14 for most of the game.

Should keep taking points here

They did. As every Kilkenny team tends to do. Clare were poor in that first half. But the gulf in ability was pretty clear, 15v14 or not
