Yea, Meath ran Dublin very close in the last round, I assumed they’d be too strong for Laois. Good win for Wexford today against a poor Wicklow side.
Darragh Canavan (son of PTG) starred today as Tyrone defeated Donegal in the Ulster U17 QF.
Can U17s play minor also?
That’s one Laois man who sounds like a fan of Kildare.
Courtwood are the lily whites tbf
Yes they can. Some counties are taking their own view and are opting for under 17s playing minor to only play that competition.
The draw has taken place for the quarter-finals of the Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football Championship, and is as follows:
Wexford v Carlow
Dublin v Longford
Laois v Kildare
Louth v Offaly
It was held following the three qualifier games that were held this weekend, involving teams that lost their first round ties. On Saturday, Laois beat Meath by 0-11 to 0-10 and Wexford defeated Wicklow by 2-14 to 3-7. Then, on Sunday afternoon, Carlow edged out Westmeath by 2-12 to 0-17.
The three winners therefore entered the draw with the five first round winners. The quarter-finals are scheduled for Saturday, 20th May.
