Official All Ireland Senior Football Championship 2010 Thread

Martin Carney said yesterday that Tyrone would run away with this match. Down by 2 for me, 1-13 to 1-11.

The co-commentator on RTE radio is Eugene “Nudie” Hughes.

Legend.

Excellent stuff from the boys in red and black so far. A shame to see Stephen O’Neill have to off so early.

Dooher = legend.

Take that Colm O’Rourke.

Down having a right cut at this. Look good every time they run at Tyrone

What a point from Joe McMahon. Brian Dooher in the 2008 All-Ireland Final-esque. Cavanagh follows up with one to rival it. I hope Pat Gilroy and Mickey Whelan are watching this. Great football.

Some man for one man

Tyrone are playing very much a possession game here against the wind.

The game is being played on Tyrone’s terms at the moment. They have a fantastic ability to adapt as a game goes on to whatever the situation demands.

Men aganst boys at the moment, and yet Tyrone can’t kill the game off.

It’s ridiculous that a pop pass like Brian Dooher just did isn’t legal.

Down are dragging men back to deal with Tyrone’s possession game, and there often aren’t enough players up front to gather these hit and hope balls that are going in when they do gain possession. Terrible shot selection also.

Down have scored once since the 18th minute. From a really good first half it’s degenerated into a bit of a dirge.

Tyrone kept Down at bay with relative ease in the second half. Possession football, totally owned the ball.

Dooher gets Man of the Match

Thought that was a smashing performance from Tyrone. 4 points down a number of times in the first half with their wind but they didn’t panic and once they got a foothold in the game they were miles ahead of Down. Second flattish second half performance in a row from them but they did what they had to do and not much more. They were always comfortably in control.

Was going to make the point. The handpass rule is gone again, Tyrone are at it all the time. Joke.

Tyrone are struggling in areas, and the pace of that game didn’t test them. Down are lacking serious on field smarts (leaders) and the management are nowhere near the required astuteness as of yet.

Ref was shockingly inconsistant, i think i heard he’s a favourite for All-Ireland Final.

Meath-Laois game is good fare so far.

Goooooooooooolllllllllllllllll - Joe Sheridan. Meath with a healthy lead here.

By Tadhg Peavoy.

Laois getting a hiding now. Tullamore hoodoo being buried at the moment. Big Joe on fire.

What was the story with taking Colm Begley off after 15 minutes? He didn’t seem injured.
