I hate that shit, you never improve if you are told you are good when you are really shit.
The Moderators are the most self obsessed fuckos you’d ever come across. The amount of blinkeredness is astonishing. Used to think it was just me. Nice to hear a few locals agree.
MBB, I thought the Louth goalkeeper was bad for that first goal, I think there was a half block on it, but still think the keeper should have got it. Think a lot of good skillful players in Dublin are being ignored for these hulk guys that they bring in like O Gara. We haven’t seen anything of young Rock in the championship this year.
I don’t get some of the things people trot out as if they were fact - “Tyrone are not the team they were”, “Tyrone haven’t been tested”, “Tyrone weren’t good , Monaghan were terrible”, “Barry Cahill is back in form”, “Corkery has found his feet” etc. Where is the evidence for any of this?
Keeper was bad for it, but he was clean through, and that was still the best shot he could muster, it was embarassing.
Isnt Rock gone abroad?
Yeah these gobshites think that you are not a supporter if you criticise any aspect of the team or squad. Its the same as Liverpool supporters who are the same. If a player is shit then they are shit and no amount of pretending he is anything other than shit is going to improve things. I fear for sports in the future with all this shit that everyone gets a medal just for entering just in case they get upset or not criticising players. I say fuck that, If ya get beat at something, then my attitude is take the beating then get working harder so that you improve. But thats a whole other thread.
Anyone who says that is an utter, utter clown.
Tyrone under Harte have proven time and time again that they cannot be written off. I thought the retirement of Canavan would hit them really hard but they came back to win another All Ireland defeating a very good Kerry team.
Of course they also have some of the best players in the country which also helps a bit.
Deluded fuckers grasping at straws that’s all. Corkery has done nothing in this championship, Im not even sure if he has scored. Tyrone may not be firing on all cylinders but they are still good enough to beat this Dublin team. I bet they are saying that O’Carroll is as good if not better than Paddy Christie.
Plus O’Neill is back from injury. Jaysus if he started O’Carroll would be taken to school, I’d fear for the young lad.
He is more Aisake Lite than Donaghy Lite
I don’t think they are the team they were, but it doesn’t mean they can’t be successful. Kerry won in 1986 really fla’d to the ropes, they were nothing like the team previously, instinct won them the All-Ireland. They are fading badly in games, and this isn’t them closing out games, they are doing that far earlier. Mulligans form is impressive, Cavanagh is showing signs and Penrose has possibly been their most consistent performer. The 2 McMahons are flying, but after that i wouldn’t be jumping around about them. Midfield in trouble, O’ Neill constantly injured, Gromley and Jordan in particular are really there for the taking, Dooher (despiet all media coverage) is off the pace. They’ll need Kyle Coney and one or two others to step up i believe.
Tyrone are living on instinct, which may be enough as their 2 main challengers are struggling.
I’m actually getting a sneaky feeling for Kildare.
I dunno, I think Taz summed up where Meath are at present best for me. They will be up there whipping the shit out of each other, telling each other, and having everyone in Meath tell them, that they’re hated, that nobody wants to see them win, that the GAA will want rid of them. They’ll even have seen the Dublin fans applauding Louth and that’ll be another bone of contention with them. No one does bitterness like Meath, and I can guarantee you, for every bit Louth were still in shock last Saturday, Meath will be riled up to tear Kildare asunder on Sunday.
I’m not sure I rate them still, but I’ve seen Meath hated and wrote off too often in my time to not see whats coming down the tracks. Also, its worth remembering, that while they did get an illegal score the last day, they still had the balls to come out and look for it when they should have been dead and buried, another good old Meath trait of yesteryear.
I don’t like it, they’re far too quiet…
I can see how you would be surprised seeing intercounty supporters travelling to and from matches in late July but some counties play on as far as September even in some years…
Nah, shur Laois contested an All Ireland 3 years ago and won one 7 years ago. Our memories aren’t that short.
I’d prefer if these animals would do this sort of thing outside my boundaries though. At least they folded up the tinfoil and took it with them though.
What All-Irelands? Minor is it? Was that only 7 years ago?
Yes. The final 3 years ago I presume you recall.
Zak Touhys team?
The earlier team was the one that beat Cork in the replay ya?

O’Carroll has done alright this year so far though. Had a good game on Stevie McDonnell and has generally looked solid enough.
Nobody is giving Dublin a hope (the last two years they were favourites against an apparently floundering Tyrone and Kerry) and that is the best way to have it for them.
One thing is for sure, the Dubs can’t handle expectation.
2003 was Brendan Quigley and Colm Begleys team in the minor. 2007 was the guts of the same team minus Begley, they lost the U21.
