im not saying that oâgara is on a par with donaghy ability wise. what im saying is their role is comparable.
I am absolutely stunned (and of course delighted) that OâGara is playing (and to an extent Bastick). All this bollocks about OâGara playing as a foil for B Brogan and breaking play up for him. He spent most of the first half against Kildare in his own HB line FFS, running around like a headless chicken, trying in some small way to be relevant to the game. Youâre carrying a serious passenger there, one who canât actually play the game of gaelic football and will more than likely be sent off. Great news of course for us, gives us an extra man to mark A Brogan.
Oâ Connor is a wonderful focal point, he was on fire Sunday destroying Oâ Se and we stopped giving him the ball. Kerrigan, Walsh and Oâ Connor lack some guile at times and lose the game plan. Also as mentioned below by Turenne, the Half back line were in tatters and Miskella in particular held onto the ball far too long.
Well said, no need for an over reaction. Its mostly coming from the hurling crowd looking to have a shot at these footballers. Cork are still the No.1 team in the country, and i think thats as good as Kerry get with possibly 10% from Galvin. Tomas is no major addition anymore IMO and wonât be a step up on AOM.
Cork have problems throughout their defence, Jamie OâSullivan MOTM in the league final was replaced at half time, Canty struggled at full back, the entire half back line struggled, neither midfielder is comfortable on the ball and two of their best young forwards are out for the rest of the season. An awful lot to work on. Gould or that other forward that came on cant remember his name have never convinced at this level either.
Think Kev is being far too cocky. Cork did lose to an average enough Kerry side (missing two of their best five players) last weekend. A lot of positive signs in the second half but they should have pushed on and won but again against Kerry didnt. Cork got a nice bit of luck in the qualifier draw last year but it might not be as handy this time.
I see Wexford named the same starting 15 as the last day against Carlow:
Anthony Masterson, Joey Wadding, Graeme Molloy, Brian Malone, Adrian Flynn, David Murphy, Aindreas Doyle, DaithĂ Waters, Rory Quinlivan, Shane Roche, CiarĂĄn Lyng, Ben Brosnan, Colm Morris, Eric Bradley, Redmond Barry.
How do you Wexford lads feel about your chances on Sunday?
Wins this weekend for:
Offaly
Down
Antrim
London
Kildare
Tyrone
Armagh
Meath
Mayo
Derry
Same worry as the last day. Colm Morris at corner forward stinks of favourtism now that PJ Banville is back in the squad. Eric Bradley will never be an intercounty full forward. Ciaran Lyng is wasted on the 40 and should be played closer to goal. The Dubs should win this at a canter.
viewing our chances with caution, we have the tools to cause an upset, but its hard to know how the lads will react if they go a few points down as we havent been in that position all year, saying that its hard to see how the dubs would react to the same thing.
a lot has been made of our respective passages to the final, with dublin beatin kildare and laois and wexford dispatching carlow, offaly and westmeath.
how good are kildare and laois? form what ive seen they dont have the same game plan or fwds as us ( feels strange saying we have fwds) both midfields are questionable.
Dublin will bring a greater level of fitness and intensity which was our downfall last year, that day b brogan scored 2-4âŚfair to say hes not going as well this year?
I have the feeling Waterford might get the better of London, London had a good month if not more between their extra time defeat against Mayo and the Fermanagh match and quite rightly fancied their chamces of an upset, Waterford are a poor enough side but little or no pressure on them and London could well be complacent after a fine win the other week
Tommy Carr thinks forums are a disgrace.
Val Andrews is comparing pseudonyms to balaclavas.
Thatâs Val âWe trained a hundred times since Christmas and we lost by 20 points, I havenât a clue what went wrongâ Andrews by the way.
Down safely through, much better second half performance, Leitrim had only three shots, Down also had 14 wides
close enough so sidhttp://www.thefreekick.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif
I should clarify for eaders that Leitimâs three shots were in the second half only while Downâs 14 wides were over the 70 minutes.
Ridiculous shit from the Laois FB. Cheating cunt holding his head
Londonâs dream looks over - 1-10 to 0-5 down and down to 14 men.
Laois have started well despite the loss of Cahir Healy. But what a penalty by the great Johnny Doyle. Come on Kldare.
Kildareâs full forward is causing big problesm for Laois.
And Wicklow are causing big problems for your lads - 0-6 to 0-1
Meath 0-7
Galway 0-3
that laois physio has a fine ass on her
