I know this is a footballl thread but fuck it, this needs to be posted (while substituting Offaly for Dublin)

That’s who we are and that’s where we come from.

Our people have real songs to sing. When they question the blood in our veins don’t you ever forget that our county has a proud past and when other counties failed, ours was the only one of 32 countieswherein the people, your forefathers, rose and shook off the chains of bondage. Listen to ‘Boolavogue’ and ‘The Boys of Wexford’ and then think of Offaly. Why should we fear Offaly or Kilkenny or any other Irish county? Nothing in our past suggests that we should. Look at your names. Great Wexford names. Think of all the memories that this county of ours holds for you. For many of the bones of our nearest and dearest lie buries in the clay beneath your feet. Like yours will. Much sooner than you ever thought. This s our chance to make history. For which you will never be forgotten. You come from a fighting tradition and don’t ever forget it.

Now we are going to walk up this road in silence. Out of our county. With the promise to each other that we will fight to the last- and remember it is only for 70 minutes. Not like your forefathers who had to fight for days on end. We will promise to give absolutely everything in order that the next time we set foot on Wexford soil we will carry back the Leinster Cup.

Today we are playing for a way of life.

Breathe in now, long and hard and as you walk, think of yourself since childhood, all of the matches you played, all of your friends both alive and gone, and make this promise to yourself. Today is the day we will be proud again. And remember:

You’d know you’re only an artificial Gorey man when you throw Maloccas out as the first choice chipper

Expect Wexford to give this a right cut. I think they will expose quite a few limitations in the Dublin team. Pace is the key to it for them. Dublin will try and sweep Wexford off their feet early and kill them off with goals. I think Wexford will survive that. McAuley’s loss is a big one and Dublin could well be rudderless in the liddle part of the pitch. Expect to see Fennell off before half time and possibly Bastick and McCarthy taken off as well. People remember 2008 but in 2005 Wexford could have and in 2010 should have beaten Dublin. Think it’ll be a similar story to those games rather than 08 with Dublin outlasting them, better squad etc. Wexford to lead at half time, Dublin to win is the bet here. Said 1-18 to 1-14 on the betting thread so will stick with that.

I had presumed the settlement of Gorey actually grew up around Malocca’s, such is its positioning and bustling atmosphere.
Where would you recommend Mac? I’ve only been to Fat Kats and King Cod. Both pretty fucking good, in fairness. It’s a very decent town for food, so maybe it’s no wonder everyone’s fat.

King Cod or Sorrentos up at the top of the town would be the best. Fat Kats is ok but without the 2 for 1 deal it’s no better than ordinary.

they know that can step it up a gear if needs be but i dont think they will have to step up a gear, wexford are that bad, they a one of the windiest teams in croke park for a long time
