If the Waterford Rose pulled it off, it would have them worried in Galway. Galway Roses triumphing in Tralee in 1980 and 1998 were the prelude to September glory in Croke Park.

The Down girl was very unmemorable so I’m surprised she’s odds on favorite now. I personally think Sydney rose should be right in the mix but she’s 25/1. The girl from Offaly was decent too but she’s 66/1. Dublin girl would be an uncontroversial selection, she was strong enough in all areas.
This gamble on Texas was bizzare. 100/1 into 11/10 before she got on stage. Out to 10/1 now and really she did nothing to suggest she should be lifting the trophy.
She went as short as 1/2
