Were you an exceptional young talent but your development was stunted somewhere along the line? What stage did you finish up playing? Did you hurl adult level for the Harriers or more or less finished up when you went off to pursue commerce academia in Dublin?
We did it both codes this year.
Very beneficial to be honest; you wouldn’t be doing it all the time but way better than the average training session.
This time of the year with panels carrying 30+ players it would be a logistical nightmare I’d imagine. How do you keep 60 lads ticking over? We had one organised but it fell through. Probably would’ve been mainly for the starters and prominent subs with a few lads moving in and out of drills.
I had a long & boring post that touched on this a few years back. Serious eye issues combined with inherent laziness & a penchant for Tunnock’s Tea Cakes scuppered my competitive hurling days. But would we have won our most recent senior in 2001 had I not scored all our points in that 1993 U12 final?
