Opinion Polls Thread

I’m only joshing, old man. I have a lot of respect and time for senior citizens.

You’ve probably rode enough of them.

Wahey

You’re an ageist cunt and I have your card marked young fellow.

How did that court case go this morning?

Doherty lost but the judgement was a but weird. Only half heard it but seemed to be the judge saying he didn’t really have time to assess the impact of the statements fully or something like that.

Publicity stunt?

I really don’t give a shit about this thing tomorrow at all. Meh doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Someone push me off one way or the other.

How are people voting?

Probably the best indicator - http://www.paddypower.com/bet/politics/other-politics/irish-politics?ev_oc_grp_ids=600658

I don’t really want to Vote yes, but I don’t think there’s much to be achieved by voting No either.
I’m considering spoiling my vote.

Why bother even turning up to vote?

I believe you should exercise your right to vote.

In other news Obama leads Romney 48-45 on the Gallup daily tracker.

More growth for FF in the latest Sunday Independent poll:

FF are up a further 6% to 29% (that’s 6% in the last 2 weeks which is probably a bit inflated but does suggest the last poll removed much of the embarrassment for people who were afraid to say they’d be voting FF next time).
FG are on 25% (+1)
Labour are on 9% (-2)
SF are on 20% (-1)
Others on 16% (-3 thanks to Ming).

Partook in an MRBI opinion poll yesterday. The young lady that was asking the questions was lovely but I found the whole process unsatisfactory. Many of the answers were multiple choice with one word answers requied.

Anyhow, there was a number of questions devoted to horse racing which I found amusing.

Some sample questions:

Is horse racing a sport or an industry? Clearly not a fair choice. I said neither but she said it had to be one or the other. Ridiculous.

Who should fund horse racing? Options: Irish Sports Council, Sponsorship/Advertsing, Exchequer or Levy on betting. No mention of the cunts funding themselves.

How many people are employed in horse racing? I guessed 20,000, she said 17,500. For fuck sake. You’d swear by the amount rubbish spouted for the last few weeks that there were hundreds of thousands employed by it. Not to mention to obscene tax reliefs that stalion owners have availed of here over the years to support the “industry”.

Do you think horse racing is restricted to rich people? Eh yes, apart from the poor bastards on minimum wages that shovel horse shit all day because they “love” the “game”.

Are you proud of Irish horse racing achievements abroad? Hardly.

Which sport gives Ireland greatest internation prestige? Options: Horse racing, Thugby, Golf or Association Football. I plumped for golf given that there were really only 2 options.

In other horse racing news it’s good to see that JT McNamara has improved but not sure about newspapers describing his condition as stable given the seriousness of the matter. Maybe it was unintentional and I suppose it is standard hospital talk.

Great post, Appendage. I would have gone for football ahead of golf.

That’s great news-can’t wait for FF to get back into power and get us out of this mess FG and Labour have gotten us into.

The Sunday Times poll tomorrow is even more depressing for Labour. Big gains for Independents at the expense of Labour and SF.
FG 27% (+1)
FF 23% (-1)
Labour 7% (-4)
SF 15% (-4)
Ind 25% (+7)

I despise Eamonn Gilmore. Gilmore for Taoiseach. Fuck off.

There is something not quite right about this pie chart in today’s Sunday Independent…
