OTB (Off The Ball)

Yes I am. When a man clearly can’t do what he’s there to do, then he shouldn’t be doing it.

The host chap seemed unaware that Souness was once a world class player,

found out in Italy mate

I can’t comment, he was one of the very best players in the best league in the world for many years though, he must have been a decent age when he went to Sampdoria.

I cant judge him at Liveprool mate, I do know how poor he was in Italy and poor at international level

Sampdoria won the Scudetto after they flogged him.

Souness left Samp to manage the Huns in the summer of 1986 . Samp won their only Scudetto in 1991 . Hard to say that Souness’ departure led to them winning the league.

Jaysus, it’s like saying Chelsea won the league because they got rid of Zola

He played 56 games , scored 8 goals and played in their first Coppa Italia winning team . He was 31 when he went there . The general consensus is that he did ok in Italy .

He was a failure

Sacked by Torino.

Souness played well for sampdoria. I actually remember him there and he was nowhere near a flop as a player.

He never played for Torino because he was shit? What an odd thing to say about a fella who won three European cups

He won 3 European cups during club footballs dark years

He never achieved the benchmark of greatness, playing for Torino.

Such a pity you haven’t an opinion of your own on football,
