Greece were hard done by that with the French winner. I think the keeper had a foot on the line when he saved the initial penalty from Mbappe. No different from Unai Simon last night who got away with it.

You’d fancy the Greeks have a right good chance of getting second ahead of the Dutch. If they do, that would pretty much put the tin hat on our already fading hopes of getting a play-off, as the Greeks lie below us in the Nations League rankings.

Ireland play Holland away in the final group game. I don’t ever recall a situation where a team’s hopes of qualifying depend on them losing a game, but there is a realistic chance this will be the case for Ireland. It could even be the case that the more Ireland lose that game by, the better their chances of a play off get.

It would be very on brand for Stephen Kenny for him to finally manage a marquee competitive away win which only serves to eliminate his own team from the competition and gets him the sack.
