I was listening to Drivetime one day last week and they were doing a piece on concussion in gaelic football when Dick Clerkin popped up representing the GGA. He’s chairman of some health and wellness sub-committee or something.
I knew yer man Paraic Duffy used to bring him around as a mascot type figure after Dick stopped playing and before Duffy retired as Director General, and he’s been a right little company man, but I’ve no idea how Clerkin is qualified to speak about best medical practice for concussions.
Then he popped up on co-commentary on Sky’s coverage of Kildare-Tyrone the other evening, and was really annoying again.
It’s fair to type that Big Dick gives me a right pain in the hole. Oh behave!
