She would appear quite a headstrong young woman, I very much doubt the parents could be capable of holding her back from doing this. The best thing they can do now is try to help her as much as they can in this quest of hers.
She looked on the verge of breaking down, because she was, because of her own autism I believe, and because she feels passionate about this subject, she has the spotlight now and is determined to drive her message home. She realises this will pass in time and she wont always have the platform she has now.
To be honest, she’s a remarkable young lady and any father would be honoured to call her their daughter.
I think @dodgy_keeper is right. Admirable and all as she is 16 is too young to be exposed to the type of media glare and downright hostility she is experiencing.
Mate, she didn’t break down and start babbling in tongues. You’re upset about her being on the verge of tears, why the big deal? She’s emotional about this, of course she is, but she still spoke magnificently and still got her point across.
If your concern is purely based on a teenage girl being on the verge of tears, you probably should move on. Its not actually all that uncommon.
