You are Mark Buehrle. You are 9 innings in to a Perfect Game.
[A perfect game is defined by Major League Baseball as a game in which a pitcher (or combination of pitchers) pitches a victory that lasts a minimum of nine innings and in which no opposing player reaches base. Thus, the pitcher (or pitchers) cannot allow any hits, walks, hit batsmen, or any opposing player to reach base safely for any other reason]
It is a feat last achieved in 2004 and possibly the second this decade.
Dewayne Wise is a substitute outfielder on the White Sox team. He leaps at the center-field wall to rob Gabe Kapler of a homer and tried to preserve the perfect game of his team mate.
Was he a specialist fielder type? Was reading the other week about the different rules for subs in different baseball leagues and pinch hitters and all that stuff - didn’t read any examples of specialist fielders being introduced but just wondering.
now thats the visual definition of a dramatic moment. My sox are struggling big time. we need another big bat in lineup. wont get that by trading penny. Clay B will have to be traded.
[quote=“Rocko”]Thuoght he was going to drop it.

You can pinch hit someone anytime except in the middle of a count . you can also pinch hit in the middle of a count if batter gets injured e.g. fouls a ball off his foot, etc.
you can only make an outfield change at beginning of an inning unless as above player gets injured i.e. if outfielder above got concussed by hitting wall etc.
That was brilliant. Fair play to yer man, he was going to go through the wall to make it. Rare for a pitcher to pitch whole game, but thats the proper perfect game.
