Podders are Gonna Pod

Born the same day and year as me. Wow

My knowledge on this was fairly poor, I didn’t realise how badly they fucked it up. Thank god it was Collins died and not Dev

Dev knew this after meeting him I reckon and that’s why he sent Collins and the rest . Lloyd George was very unimpressed with De Valera by all accounts

Dev was a snake.

Listened to this episode yesterday. Very good to be fair. Two men and a stick.

A Scottish comedian popped up on my timeline recently praising us for how we died for our freedom, in comparision to how they went about it meekly asking could they be asked if they wanted to leave, and when asked saying they were grand to stay.

TBF we were a few chapeens walking into Downing Street to a negotiating team who had just dragged the Germans over the coals.

The story about the cars was good and quite indicative of how time was running out towards the end, along with everything else.

The big shock I took from it was that Churchill was a liberal back then not a Tory.
The tv movie starring Brendan Gleeson as Collins was a very good insight into the negotiations for anyone who never saw it.

He was a lot better to explain things than Paul Rouse IMO

McGreevy was way better alright. They also had another Irish guest for the extra subscription podcast about medieval Ireland laws (Gillian Kenny of UCD) who was also great.

I like Theo Von.

He said the world today is the opposite of a hug.

I couldn’t put it better myself.
