Wilson didnt look overjoyed by the prospect of that move into midfield.
Nasty as fuck on Walters from the Polish baldy prick.
Awful tackle on Walters.
Good direct play from McLean and Long not far away from getting a solid touch.
Decent showing from us. Defended well. Find Shane Long’s attitude bit questionable at times.
We seem to be winning the singing contest again
Those of us who followed the play-offs tonight clearly missed out on a thriller in Poznan.
Roy looks like he’s just had a fine satisfying shite there.
Martin looks like he can smell it.
Paul Green was brilliant tonight.
Thought we played well enough. As Curtis pointed out we went off the boil in the second half, particularly once Wilson went into midfield and McCarthy dropped out. Missed McGeady when he was off too, though McLean put in some decent defensive work.
Will be interesting to see who plays alongside McCarthy in the midfield in the next few games. Whelan did well on Friday night against limited opposition and is probably marginally better in possession than Green. Not that he’s particularly inventive in his passing but he’s just on the ball a bit more. Green is definitely better at pressing opposing midfields and winning the ball back though. What a problem for the new management team to have.
Positives over the 2 games:
[]Wingers looked lively and creative (well McLean and McGeady anyway)
[]Robbie Keane continues to be available for selection
[]McCarthy was decent and more commanding than usual, albeit against inept opponents
[]Green and Whelan both looked better than they had done in recent games under Trap
Negatives from the 2 games:
[]We only have 1 capable full back at the moment in Coleman. Kelly and Ward were both suspect and Wilson wasn’t convincing at centre back either
[]Long and Doyle didn’t offer much, Stokes not much more involved either

Forde can’t kick a ball very well

MOTM.
Delighted for the boy
Very camp pose from the Polish player there.
Yikes. Sorry mate. Sorry James.
I thought Wilson did well over the two games at centre back. Definitely need a left back. Apparently Greg Cunningham played there in February when we beat Poland 2-0. I was at that game but I’ve no recollection of his display.
