Coldplay in general, cant stand anything they’ve ever done, granted I’ve only heard the songs they released as singles and they’re muck so I can only imagine what they consider not good enough to be released as singles

Must say I looked forward to their second album with anticipation after the excellent ‘Don’t panic’, which I think was the last single from Parachutes. The second and third albums though were extremely ordinary for me.
Of course Q magazine blows its load over them…
I think the hype around them is a factor in me dismissing them allright. It’s totally misplaced in my opinion. This may sound snobbish :o but I’m not a fan of bands that the ignorant masses go out and buy blindly to have on during they’re dinner partys.
Red Hot Chili peppers are another band that have fallen into this category(not so much the dinner part brigade). They’ve gone downhill since the became massive
Following on from the stuff that is rated highly in many quarters rather than the cheesy pop crap that we all know is scheidt; have rarely liked anything REM have done. Similarly for U2 but especially The Red Hot Chilli Peppers who I believe to be the greatest load of steaming pi$$ I have possibly ever heard.
I was in the middle of typing a post yesterday about U2 but didnt want to spark another “Bono is a coont” debate. But they are gone seriously shiite, couple of good songs back in the day. I remember watching a music show(cant for the life of me remember what it was) where U2 were praised for changing with the times. Thats a form of selling out in my opinion. They make music for the ignorant masses.
