Premier League 2017/18

THis was the blip, they’ll continue to pull away, they’ll drop points along the way but not as much as the others, they’re a class apart and KDB is the only player who they can’t replace

Incredible achievement from Pep to match what I believe is a record of 13 consecutive EPL wins. They’ve done it with some real stylish football as well. I imagine @Nembo_Kid will be most effusive in his praise of Pep and his team.

Odd you’re so praiseworthy of Pep’s achievements when you’re always citing net spends and major conglomerates as excuses for Spurs.

City have a net spend of around £300m in Guardiola’s two seasons at the club. It’s a great achievement but I find it very odd for you to be lavishing the praise on when you cite net spend and financial resources as the main reason for success in the EPL.

As of yet Guardiola has won absolutely nothing with City, he may buy the league as you would put it, or he may not. His first season was a disaster, the second season has started well but it’s not over yet - big game next weekend.

We will see.

I think they look tired and when they look tired, it becomes glaringly obvious that they are awful at the back. They started off on fire last season and went to pot soon after. They won their first seven league games last season so it will be interesting to see.

Guardiola is a two times drug cheat from his playing days also. Failed two drug tests for nandralone.

I’m sure he’ll splash out another £100m or so in January just to be sure.

It’ll be an unbelievable achievement if he wins the title having spent well over a quarter of a billion of Abu Dhabi oil money.

Up there with his titles in Germany.

Strange answer, I never mentioned Abu Dhabi oil money. How much money has Jose Mourinho spent at Man Utd?

A net spend of circa £280m in his season at a half at Man City. £390m spend on new players since he took charge 18 months ago, no notable sales either.

The only real clubs out of the top 6 who have lost important first team players in the past two seasons have been Spurs (Walker) and Chelsea (Costa and Matic).

The net spends in the past two seasons have been circa:

City £280m
United £225m
Arsenal £57m
Chelsea £42m
Liverpool £27m
Spurs £21m

Mourinho with his £225m net spend and he still can’t get near the league title

If it prevents United from winning it will be money well spent.

Two trophies - more than certain clubs have won in a decade - in his first season after taking over a club in complete disarray is a decent effort.

 come off the stage mate, it’s man united, he’s a disaster

He took over a dressing room with morale on the floor, having finished 7th, 4th and fifth in the previous seasons. A squad clogged up with deadwood. And had the difficulty which a Europa League campaign entails.

Two trophies in the circumstances was a more than decent effort. Slowly weeded out dross like Schweinsteiger, Depay, Schneiderlin and Rooney. His signings like Bailly, Zlatan, Matic have all been successes so far, to various extents.

Scored four goals or more in seven or eight league games. Scored more goals this season than media darling Klopp but strangely enough you rarely hear that mentioned.

After the shambles under the previous two managers he has steadied the ship. Still a few players short to challenge a state sponsored side like city but overall United are doing ok.

Two shitty cups that nobody including Mourinho cares about. Man City were in a worse position when Guardiola took over than Man Utd were with an ageing squad in need of a massive overhaul and now they’re 8 points ahead of Man Utd under Mourinho
