Premier League 2018/19

You were asked what happened it.

How do you think they became billionaires?

So their debt was cleared, thanks.

They are financially prudent because they have foreign investment, like all the top clubs at the moment.

Liverpool spent beyond their means and billionaires cleared their debt.

Liverpool went from 40m losses in 2011 to £200m profits in 2016 — Some of the debt was lumped onto Hicks and Gillet through the sale to FSG. Good business has seen Liverpool flourish financially rather than sand monkeys pumping in billions of oil money.

Thanks, that’s all I was looking for.

The foreign investors at the club I support are better than all the other foreign investors because they give us free money but your ones are bad because they are more foreign.

FFP has made profits a necessity. All EPL clubs including the likes of City and Chelsea are now reporting profits. It’s a requirement that you can no longer make significant losses without sanction.

They don’t get the difference between a legitimate business investment and money laundering.

City have made profits for 4 successive years.

oh come on, you’re not that dumb. the other lad is alright

It’s not money laundering if the money comes from the good old US of A. Just Russia or UAE

Free money? Liverpool’s revenue is linked to business and player sales - not oil money.

Hicks and Gillet created a lot of that debt and were there to use the club to borrow/ plunder resources - the club is simply just being run efficiently now… Hicks is still paying over 100k a month in debt from his time at Liverpool … ouch.

Bollocks, if Liverpool had to service the debt they wouldn’t have been able to splurge the Suarez and Coutinho money as they did.

The Debt was belonged to Hicks and Gillet and they lumped onto Liverpool … they were correctly forced to sell the club by the Bank of Scotland … they are still paying for their misdeeds.

And it was wiped by the new owners. That’s free money

Liverpool were spending beyond their means. A consortium of billionaires came in and wiped a lot of their debt out with their own money.

The new owners only wiped some of the debt… nearly free money you could say.

Do you really think FSG are not looking to get the money back that they’ve invested? Check out the net amount they’ve spent on transfers since they arrived. Check out the profits Liverpool have started turning. Who will be the beneficiaries of these profits?

they paid 200 million off it, and funded the new stand for 114m.

Liverpool are operating prudently now, because of free money, invested by a foreign investor. They are operating at a profit, the same as all top clubs.
