This is an inspiring speech from An Taoiseach.
I’m a bit confused as to why the Nordic countries are giving us this cash, as I never remember them being overly generous to us with Eurovision points in recent years.
Sky News aren’t bothering with Biffo this week. We’re yesterday’s news already.
Where’s Vinnie?
Vincent, your public awaits you.
A few easy questions from the lackeys like Sheehan and Collins to warm up.
This ‘international assistance’ he’s referring to sounds a bit like the international assistance the Poles got in September 39.
I liked the reference to “time and space”
Fucking mongs…
"IN a week in which Taoiseach Brian Cowen is one of the most hated men in the history of the State, his predecessor continues to be the people’s favourite as he struts around Leinster House.
Last Tuesday afternoon, Bertie Ahern walked into the Dail bar to a fanfare of cheers and applause from the Duhallow Community Group on a trip to the Dail, organised by Fianna Fail backbencher Michael Moynihan.
Bertie posed for pictures and mingled with the Co Cork-based community group before making his exit soon after.
The Cork North West TD confessed he did not know what type of reception the former Taoiseach would receive, as the group were not all Fianna Fail supporters. He had wished to bring the current Taoiseach into the bar but Mr Cowen was unable to drown his sorrows with the group as he was taking questions in the Dail.
“The situation was that he [Bertie] was standing outside the Dail after a vote, Mr Cowen was still inside the Dail taking questions, so I asked Mr Ahern if he would come in. I didn’t know whether or not he was going to be booed or applauded,” he said.
Fine Gael TD and spokesperson on social protection, Michael Ring, who was in the Dail bar at the time, was astonished at the reception that greeted Mr Ahern as he entered the bar.
“It’s absolutely crazy, at a time when the IMF are in the country and the EU are aiding our banks, that the architect of it all is getting cheered as if he won the All-Ireland when he walks into the Dail bar. It’s an absolute disgrace,” he said.

A message for Ireland from your friends the bondholders.
Best question so far from the CNBC guy.
Using up the NPRF is suicide.
Many of the Irish journalists are pathetic. They either incompetent or have a vested interest or both. What the fook does Collins expect the answer to his question to be “No Stephen. We can’t afford it. We are screwed. Go and write another book on your beloved PD’s”.
Also why the fook are Carey, Ryan and Mary there? They are desperately trying to look intelligent and show how hard they are listening.
Ah we’re not drawing it all down together. But no denial we’ll be drawing everything down.
I am in an elevated position at the back of this press conference armed with a Barrett ‘Light Fifty’ sniper rifle. I have rather controversially decided to take out Mary Hanafin from the choice of targets available. I will explain my actions at the trial.
The fundamentals are sound
Did anyone else hear that Mary is fond of pipe?
“We are making a saving by using our own resources.”
“This saves us money”
Does the average rate of 5.8% include the 0% on our own money is the question we want answered? That makes the external rate much higher.
Some wonderful public speakers at that table.
